Brilliant song. It gave me goosebumps in the 80's when I was a school kid & after hearing it again for the first time in over 25 years, it has the same effect, In my opinion, the line "things like this make me sick..." is trying to explain that most of us hate the idea of love 'cos it is 'soppy' and it make us look weak. But sometimes, 'somebody' will come along & make being vulnerable & in love alright . Just my interpretation, but hell, the song meant enough to stay in my head for 25+ years!
