Just tell your kids: Liberals are responsible for everything great about the U.S.A. And tea baggers and Republicans are the U.S.A.'s only real enemies.
@dizzymasekela Spoken like a true welfare leech. Sure does beat working for a living doesn't it? Man oh man I wants me sum o dat obammy money. Yassuh!!!
This is a lie, Thomas Jefferson has not been taken out of the text books. You are truly misinformed.
So now, that everyone has the same coverage as Medicaid recipients and illegal aliens. Where do you think those that have been on the system all these years will find themselves? AT THE BACK OF THE LINE that's where!
@ProgressiveTalk Thomas Jefferson is included along with John Adams, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Nathan Hale, the Sons of Liberty and George Washington as Founding Fathers and patriot heroes that Texas fifth-graders should study for their notable contributions during the Revolutionary period.
@ProgressiveTalk During Grade 8 history of the US from early colonial period -Reconstruction is presented, the Social Studies TEKS framework requires students to explain the roles played by the following significant individuals: Abigail Adams, John Adams, Wentworth Cheswell, Samuel Adams, Mercy Otis Warren, James Armistead, Benjamin Franklin, Bernardo de Galvez, Crispus Attucks, King George III, Haym Salomon, Patrick Henry, T Jefferson, the Marquis de Lafayette, Thomas Paine and Washington
@ProgressiveTalk The U.S. Government course required for high school graduation mandates that students "identify the contributions of the political philosophies of the Founding Fathers, including John Adams, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, John Jay, James Madison, George Mason, Roger Sherman and James Wilson on the development of the U.S. government."
@ProgressiveTalk In addition, high school students must "identify significant individuals in the field of government and politics, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Marshall, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan."
@ProgressiveTalk To say the State Board of Education has excluded Thomas Jefferson from the curriculum framework is irresponsible and untruthful.
Jefferson not only penned the words of the Declaration of Independence, served as the 3rd President of the US & was father of the University of Virginia, but his promotion of the ideals of states' rights and a limited federal government have permeated our nation for centuries. No study of American history would be complete without his inclusion.
@jbflynn1 Jefferson has been removed from a particular U.S. history book used in the GA. public schools. To make up for the dearth of material on the Founding Fathers, seven pages were devoted to MLK.
damn.. I just finished the last of my Glenfiddich last night.
The accent is just a tad difficult to follow - but only at first. That said, I am always refreshed to know that those who settle here from other countries have such a better grasp of American Heritage and principles than so many that grow up here.
Did you realize there were so many morons here before you immigrated?
LOL! I was trying to sort out an email problem with my ISP today and the tech complemented me on my accent. I live in the NW- didn't realize we had one
Before my grandfather passed away- during his final years labeled any and all accents as "Mexican" It was horrifying in public. So I combined the two for you.
I suppose though, my Scottish accent is a bit thick compared to most. Take Craig Ferguson for example. He has merged his trans-atlantic accent and sounds NOTHING like a Scotsman to me.
Hello mare do you live in the US? Are these tea party cunts racist, unhinged, religious maniacs or what? They are not only religious in the Christian way but they are religious in the political sense. Anything that they don't agree with they call communism. Even their greatest ally and cultural copycat England has socialised heathcare but we are not living with death panels and Brown isnt Stalin. They defame Britain, their greatest ally with their unhinged political rantings....
Yeah, I'm originally from Scotland, so I know how great the NHS is.
I have to listen to these right-wing nutters slander socialised health-care all the time and they don't even know what the hell they are talking about. The conservatives of America are like a cancer. Hope you stick around for more videos.
You can probably tell from my accent I'm not originally from America, right?
In Scotland, and the UK, where socialism is the norm, I don't see any forms of bankruptcy occurring.
The debt and deficit of those countries are pale in comparison to the balloon that is the federal debt of the US. Do you see any bankruptcies occurring in France, Germany, Sweden, Spain, etc?
i think they should pass Alan Graysons bill if you look back at on all the polls the ppl wants the public option so im not really should if i can support the health care bill if it dont have the PO but i do think we need to do something to help ppl but it could be too weak to do any good thats what im worried about
Nicely done, but the American people have been subject to propaganda for years maybe this has taken it so far that they will question the treason behind these right wing fundy loonies.

@jbflynn1 It certainly isn't a lie. CNN, Reuters and just about every other major news organization in the US covered this.

@castletriglav I don't live in GA. So I can't comment on how they do things there.
jbflynn1 1 year ago
@ProgressiveTalk That is why Thomas Jefferson warrants such strong emphasis in the TEKS standards the State Board of Education has approved.

@jbflynn1 I borrowed a U.S. history textbook belonging to the son of a friend.
There was NO mention of Thomas Jefferson. There were, however, numerous pages devoted to MLK, whose accomplishments can be summed up in one paragraph.
castletriglav 1 year ago
@castletriglav The TX process has included several mentions on T Jefferson.
