  • I just said the part about the trees and pyramids along with you!

  • I just noticed the dots by the score that show how many bullets you have.

  • Cool! I loved Pick Axe Pete and the control handle broke or came off so I had to glue a handle I made from a wooden ball, which I put a hole into it then painted it. A much better handle If I say so,for sure.

  • You touch the tree that's the same color as your robot to reload. What I always tried to do was get bullets bouncing among the trees for as long as possible. Sometimes the trees would be just right so I could get one running in an endless loop, then sit back and wait for the computer player to blunder into the path and die.

  • my grandmother had an odyssey 2. i loved that thing as a kid. this game was so awesome, and i always loved the cover.

  • Herzog Zwei also let's you to have a CPU vs CPU match, now that's awesome.

  • brilliant vid...love it...made me laugh.. 'what kinda gun fighter hides his bullets in a tree' LMFAO ...

  • If you kill someone they become a large breast !

  • this is call of duty would have been like 30 years ago

  • 1:02 BOOM HEADSHOT!!!

  • This and Worm War 1 are my favorite reviews.

  • I have never played an Odyssey but I gotta say, this game looks awesome! :)

  • Haha thats the very first Teabag

  • the animation is surprisingly good.

  • me and my brother used own this we had great times with this

  • Have to confess i never heard of this game system before, seems to tick all the early console boxes though, blocky graphics, pings n beeps for for sound effects, bright primary colours, yes it most assuredly is a console of its time and pedigree.

Having been born in 75 i am in awe of how fast we have come in such short space of time and appreciate mordern games more so than younger generations having been through the early days

  • ODYSSEY 2 RULES

  • The funny thing about games in this era, box art was so outstanding, but when you played the game it was nothing like the art. I know that graphical capabilities at the time forced us to use imagination, but come on... they could of at least not got your hopes up so much. I.E.: "Gateway to Apshai" for C64... box art shows this awesome monster and warrior on it in cool colors and the game has lines for rooms and characters. The C64 graphics cld hv done cut scenes with the pics on the box easy.

  • Looks like they get pregnant when shot down.

  • Magnavox had a really shitty console, but they had some damn good graphic artists doing the box art, back in the day.

Odyssey could give Atari a run for their money, when it came to box art. They blew Intellivision and their early 70's Sears Catalog looking boxes, out of the water. I still think Pick Axe Pete is still my favorite box art from that era.

  • I love the ricocheting bullet gameplay mechanic.

  • I loved this game when I was a kid. Nice trick: When you kill your opponent and he falls dead near the right or left edge of the screen, you have a few seconds where you can continue shooting him and he'll be crushed against the edge into a little box. Great fun. ;)

  • you should review the retro game challenge

  • I loved the art for the games on the boxes.

  • They are shooting miniaturized ping-pong balls at each other.

  • its just too ridiculous making reviews of these 0.0.000002 versions of advanced Paint xD

  • I love it when one accidentally shoots themselves when the bullets ricochet off the trees and hits the guy who fired it. XD

Mr. IncomeCompany, LOVED the Galaxy Rangers reference! :D ~Gives you a cookie.~

  • This reflecting thing is really cool, and a thing that every game should have today.

  • does anyone know of anyway to emulate this game or know where to buy the console?

  • My sister and I use to play this. We'd just do one shots into the trees to see how many ricochetes would happen before someone got hit.

I always thought the trees were made from Aluminum, not plastic.

Yes...touch the same colour tree and you reload.

We also use to shoot all our bullets and then fight like Rocky Balboa because how they draw their guns looks like how they punch. Then we'd play "Eye Of The Tiger" and punch each other into the coloured trees to shoot one another.

  • skynet

  • 1:45 is that the first known videogame act of teabagging? i used to love this game

  • ohh i used to play this all the time on the odyssey 2 clone "philips G7000" wich was realeased in europe.. boom headshot!! hehe ;-P

  • 1:02 HeadShot

  • Thank you soooo much for posting this. I remember kicking my older brother's ass at this game when I was a kid. All cool kids had Nintendo... we had the Odyssey 2. Also, what the vid doesnt show is if you stand right next to a tree you can shoot right thru it.

  • Just bought this game tonight.

It is so rudimentary...............and so dang FUN!!

  • I highly doubt that there will be any showdowns in 2100 ad because most of us will have been killed by the robotrons.

  • Dancing on the corpse. Classic.

  • How many times did I wind up shooting myself in this game? THe ricochet effect was awesome!

  • the magnavox is ok but the atari 2600 is alot better, i think that all the games on the magnavox look a bit tacky compared to atari

  • I kinda beg to differ.

And in fact tacky is a great quality in products from the 70's and 80's its one of their great touches, like K-9000 (a cheesy 80's film)

  • At 2:38..I thought he was going to say,"This reminds me of freddy crugar's hand"

  • Who needs counter strike, Halo , call of duty, and resident evil when you have this?

  • @crazyzach5 haha, i hate all of those games >_>

  • @crazyzach5 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

  • You can make the computer fight itself in Soul Calibur. Set it on maximum difficulty and you'll get quite a display.

  • 1:36 Dancing on his corpse ^_^

  • like it love it... CLASSIC XD

  • he or those cowboys should hide their bullets in their brains and then shoot their brains out and get the bullets but wait aren't they dead by then nope still going..=D never heard of the odyssey system before.

  • I recently purchased a Odyssey 2 that I got from ebay... I love it..

  • I want to play this. I have Outlaw for the Atari 2600. These Odyssey reviews are top quality. You do a great job with them.

  • @notyoursavior78 He also sounds like the voice of Garfield from the old cartoons. Can't beat that.

  • I hide my amo in a tree

  • K.C.'s Crazy Chase was the sequel to K.C. Munchkin (They might have gotten sued) but it was a cross between Pac-Man and Centipede.

  • Showdown on 2100 is one of my favorite O2 games. I'd like to find the 'Videopac' version, as that's the one I had when I was a kid. :)

  • Me & my brother always played "Quest for the Rings" & bowling and all those. Also the racing game. We always liked the Space Invaders clone, though it gets beaten up in modern reviews. Uhh it was called "Alien Invaders Plus". It wasn't nearly as bad as people say.

  • I had an Odyssey 2. It was pretty hoard. K.C.'s crazy chase and Pick Axe Pete were especially sweet. Never had Showdown, though, but I had Quest for the Rings! Why wouldn't you hide bullets in a tree? That's a good idea.

  • wow this is just like css !

  • this is better than outlaw. only because you have more to dodge and you can move around the feild more than outlaw

  • only thing missing is the little flower the pops up on the dead body.

  • It takes time to put these together, at least he tried. I've heard much worse voices, including my own.

  • I know this is 7 months too late but how can you be put to boredom?

  • Yeah I think I will have to pass on this game. Too realistic.

  • i have a hokky game for the ps2 that lets com VS com

  • First onh!! ;-)

  • best name ever

  • Man, I want to watch this in HD, but cant because my computer keeps slowing down and crashing :(

  • fail...

  • nice :D

  • Is it possible to teabag in this game? Important consideration.

  • what does A.D. mean??

  • Anno Domini. Latin for "In the year of our lord".

  • after death i think.

  • In the year 2100 trees with be multi-color, robots will all wear cowboy hats and shoot revolvers like the wild west!

  • COOL

  • Those manuals are brilliant.

  • are there any odyssey 2 emulators?

  • Yes it's called O2EM.

  • This game very much reminds me of "Outlaw" for the Atari 2600, which my sister, and I used to play everyday. It's funny to think back now about how pissed we used to get with eachother when we got shot. After all, that was the point of the game, and we knew is what going to happen, yet we got angry anyway. Now, when I play video games with my sister, and I lose, I just laugh.

  • lol that looks pretty fun

    i think ill buy it

  • Anyone else immediately give this show 5 stars as soon as the video starts? Well you know it's going to be good already.

Anyhow Wow that's a pretty dramatic death there when the guy err android gets shot. The computer can play itself? Sweet and I too love the "Official Rules" and how they try and explain the game in as many sentences as possible.

    Lastly, GAMBLING!

  • That actually looks surprisingly playable for its period

  • hey now, there were tons of good games for the MO2 and atari 2600. don't be hatin' foo

  • Mr. Gunfighter probably only wants to reload when he's in cover. I.e. standing behind a tree.

  • Now im going to dance on his corpse!

  • game like this u coudl sit drink and play for ages they should make little addicting random fun thing like this now.

  • Keep up the great work, Mark!

  • Looks fun! I like wild west themed video games.

  • It's strange that when the player dies and is on the floor, his stomach turns into a big triangle. And not only is it this game, but it happens on K-Razy Shootout for the Atari 8-bit too.

  • Oh no, oh no, where is the HD!? :P

    Great review, thanks!

    [Do Grid as well hehe]

  • Magnavox and Atari. Just Magnavox and Atari games' reviews... I dont need anything more :D

  • What about Nintendo?

  • Too mucho NES in YT...

  • You can NEVER have too much NES. :D

  • thats a good game!

  • you were not first, m8 :)
