This game wasn't necessarily made to see how fast someone can fly through it; it is much more about savoring the atmosphere and storyline. Nevertheless, this is still quite a feat.

Important to note is:

The game has a superior story , a lot of details and its so much different from the mainstream story you get.

Peops don't like it if they don't want to have story, or just a story thats like a movie, here you have direct interaction, its like an interactive epic book, and its insane how much text the game has.

Playing the game with a warrior just killing anything is one thing, as an intelligent mage something else.

Fallout and this are the games that make RPG so great.

You're right, this game's storyline was 10/10, I remember the part when you went to the undead city was my favorite, because you actually could talk to them and get their point of veiw of what it was like to be dead ...

the soundtrack is absolutely haunting with a touch of sinister and yet peaceful hypnotic. kinda like how the storyline goes. fantastic game and setting

Played it through once, it has no replayability, this is a fact, it's barely an RPG since the only option is being a Mage and buffing up your Char/Int/Wis so that the whole experience isn't a completely boring hash, even so it's still a drudge. Poorly balanced, horrible implementation of D&D rules, useless party members and a even shoddier second half (the instant you enter Curst) makes this game an embarrassment.

I'd much rather play Ultima VII for the twentieth time.

you can still find several bad points for this game even if you liked it.

for the replayability: the only purpose is getting others allies, play an other alignement, find the quests you havent done (fun in fallout but here...), BUT its still linear and you skip all the texts cause you already know them.and playing with poor int/wis is pointless.

i still think its a great game, it is for many reasons.but its exiting cause you play an amnesiac! no purpose of playing when you already knows!

@Panzerfairy Disagree. Speedruns aren't about playing the game as it's meant to be played, they're a completely new challenge. A Torment run done properly could be awesome, because you get to really fuck with the Infinity Engine and its massive glitches and exploit the shoddy scripting of Torment, getting some nice insight into how the guts of the game work in the process. This run is just shit though, you can easily halve the time without even using any glitches.

Yep, its not like other games where you spend time in the open just killing monster. Its endless territory of huge cities and everything you do affects you in the future and the outcome of the game. In this game you don't really have to fight anyone, you can just persuade, use knowledge and diplomat people into your decisions. Become a scholar or a thief and rob people in the street. The storyline is great too. There is also alot of things to do in the game.

That's not really fair there is a lot of character development and communication with other player characters involved in Diablo 2. I've spent countless hours reading and talking to players to trade and rush.
