  • I'm Hungarian, and I have read that one or two hundred years ago similar dugout boats were used in Hungary. Very few boat remained, because modern plank boats appeared quite early. Interestingly the boat called "hajó" in hungarian language. In the ancient times the ancestors of hungarians were nomadic horsemen (possibly scythians), but in the stone age there were some relation with the finno ugric nations, according to the most recent wievs.
