Brain Stem Tumor Dec 2001. It was a great loss. For being such a humble guy he was an amazing guitarist and songwriter. Everything he ever release officially was of superior quality for its time. No need to be humble. He was magnificent, "Only the good die young" -Iron Maiden
Didn't seem rusty at all, but I've been messing with an old Halo bass my dad gave to me, and I've noticed there's definitely a transition phase switching back and forth. Did you find that playing bass for awhile streamlined your guitar fingering a bit? (Definitely strengthens your hands)
Intense stuff. Admit it - your left arm must have felt a bit tired after all that riffing. ;) At first I thought the editing sucks, but then I got used to it. It gives the song a sense of progression.
ha! well... at least you are honest.. i dont really like any editing, but sometimes i feel like i ppl would stay focused throughout a 7min video if there was something else going on other than just the song.
i agree with you... the editing sucks! thanks for the comment!
No no, like I said I got used to it. ;) At first I was turned off by the negative colour thing etc, but it got better from there on. I especially liked the more subtle effects that helped create a nice atmosphere.
Havent watched one of ur vids in a while dude, Awesome work! you cant get metal much better than Scavenger of Human Sorrow! Cool effects! Great Song, Great Job(Nice work on that harmonic at 1:36 I fucking love that part!) ESP's are epic win!
RIP Chuck!
oh and BTW Richard Christy Is GOD on TSOP, dont you agree?
pppoooppp! yeah dude, been very busy with school/work/ etc.. ha! i got THAT harmonic, but missed the 2 at the solo... well, fuck it.
to tell you what i think... christy is extremely good. but i feel like he tries too hard sometimes, and how can you not when you are "replacing" guys like sean reinert and gene hoglan, right? there are songs where he definitely slows down during the song...

AWESOME!
hey if you don't mind me asking how did you get so fast I always try to do fast lines and they never come out.
They're always sloppy and/or my fingers get all stiff?
any pointers.
I've been playing for 3 years and i thought i would be much better at this point

have you tried stretching before playing fast lines.. i know it sounds stupid, but i learned that from petrucci's 1st (only?) dvd. it works for me.
thanks for your comment!
