  • The ram's bottlenecking the apu.

  • Is this the best processor for about $140?

  • @jeffwashere100

At this price, it's a steal but you'd be looking probably at the 3870k by now.

  • is it possible to use that APU and get another graphics card and run through crossfire?

  • ur using WinShit Nooooo..... wat a waste

  • Can this be overclocked to >3.2GHz?

  • @lynch778 115mhz x 28 multiplier is your friend on that one.

  • @ashdaman954841

Thanks, that is a fairly good oc.

  • Will the integrated GPU be of any use if I use a discrete Video card....???

  • @MonteCarlo185 yes by enabling dual graphics or crossfire

  • @acuna13 depends, the CPU performance would likely be about the same. In highly threaded apps you might see a small increase. As far as gaming goes, what GPU do you have now? The AMD APU's blow away Intel HD3000 integrated graphics by far.

  • is it a nvidia card compatible?

  • @chicoscisuckscushe Yes, I think so... but if you talk about SLI than it depends upon the motherboard....

  • My Motherboard recently has been giving me problems and instead of looking for a replacement socket775 motherboard for my e8400 I figured it would be more practical to pick up a newer cpu/mobo/ram combo and sell the e8400 & ram for funding.

Im more of a casual gamer & Most used apps for me are, Autocad, Photoshop, and maybe a little video editing in Premiere.

This new A8-3850 along w/ an Asus F1A75-V Pro, would I see a noticeable difference in performance?

  • this card has the best price:performance ratio. its a little slower than the i5 2400 but at a fraction of the cost

  • @zeogravity20 is it durable?my friend said that some amd processor are exploding when its over use..can give a advice i5 or this processor..

  • @chicoscisuckscushe That was something half a decade ago...

  • if i have amd llano 631 at 2.6ghz how do i make it 3ghz?

  • Approved!

  • i have it on my hp dv6 and its wonderful its very fast!!!

  • @LeoSstiSh what are the specs of your dv6 and what do you use it for. Ive been looking to purchase one but there are no reviews out there for it. Much appreciated if you replied :)

  • @thecam4444 15.6 inch screen, this processor, 6 gb of ram, windows 7 home premium, bluray, beats audio, hdmi, complete keyboard. i use for watching videos, playing and everything. Its very fast. The exact model its dv6 6135dx

  • They are really good!!!!!

  • so should i take this cpu?

  • @sameranio3110 yes for sure, did you bought it?

  • @GRdestroyerH2 i'm probably gonna buy it for my build but i don't have it yet no

  • hey, at the end of the video you said you would make a video about adding another card to boost the performance and I was wondering if you had gotten around to that yet?

  • Can u overclock that processor ..and are you going to overclock only CPU or both (CPU and GPU) thanks!

  • @DRIVEORD1E You can only increase the base clock which overclocks the GPU AND CPU clocks.

  • What about this ?

AMD Llano shuts down AHCI and USB 3.0 when overclocking

  • so would this apu alone be good enough to run games like fallout new Vegas and gears of war 2 on high without any hiccups?

  • @clay922 No, if you want something like that I would recommend getting a dedicated card to go along with it. I would recommend buying this chip regardless just as a base platform and then later add a dedicated card later. The graphics on the chip are good enough to play most modern games on low-medium at respectable frames.

  • @clay922 I play fallout:NV with the stand alone A8-3850 (No discrete Gpu) At 1280x720 max settings i get on average 40fps.

  • @RyansworId are you serious, no grafics card and you're on 40fps on fallout New vegas?

  • @TheElmoGamer Yes.

  • This might sound like a stupid question as I'm new to computer components. If I overclock the cpu the way you instructed (which I assume you did in the BIOS, please correct me if I'm wrong) will the cpu fan automatically adjust to the higher temperature that the cpu has?

  • @awesomeanimal If you wanna overclock, you should get a good heatsink. And from there, you wouldnt need to worry about the fan speed.

  • @Blackcandlez I plan to, but i wanna know if the stock heatsink is sufficient enough to run the overclocked cpu

  • @awesomeanimal Well, Idk..I dun own an APU. But if u ask my opinion. I doubt its sufficient. U can go check its limitation of the Temp at AMD. =D

  • This quad core processor is slower then intel core i3 but it has a great integrated graphic. Now it seems to me that it's not made for gamers it's made for kids

  • @DISTURB899 agree

  • @DISTURB899 nope i saved alot of money having this with a radeon 6850 and i get higher fps than the same card with a regular phenom x4

  • This APU is good enough for gaming and it does support DX11 and Dual Graphics Configuration with a support of Low End Graphics Cards.... Cheap eh!?

I spotted this APU at Computer shop near my place in very affordable price about $130 But I did buy it just yet until the release of AMD Bulldozer.... oh boy....

  • What the? 4 cores with only 65W of TDP!!!??

  • Will HD6870 support for a APU combined? If can i just wanna say AWESOMEE!!!

  • Does this APU work with graphics cards to, do they work together?

  • lol any thing can run call of duty cause there engine is like over 5 years old.

  • now im confused because i dont have an apu does this mean i can put a graphics card in like an ati radeon 6990 and it will be able to use the whole card and maybe graphics processing in the back ground from the apu

  • @flamingarse1 if you install a vid card with this apu it will actually boost the performance of the vid card because the cpu has the gpu already on it so technically it will put your vid card in crossfire with the apu. lol

  • @THExVETERAN No It's tested on tomshardware only 1/5th the game they tested only increased by like 15% performance

  • @thatgirlisflyytt well the vid card has to be an entry level video card other wise itll bottle neck the gpu in the apu and not boost the performance. but still a 15 percent boost in performance is better than nothing right?

  • @THExVETERAN FUCKING AWSOME to bad i dont have an ati radeon 6990 but will it work with a visiontek radeon 6950 and also can i use 2 cards in crossfire or sli while using the apu

  • @flamingarse1 you dont need a 6990 or 6950 lol. actually if you buy an entry level radeon like a 6500 something it will work perfectly and get the same performance like a 6950 with the apu. cause if you use anything above a 5800 or 6800 it will bottleneck the apu. i would go to tomshardware for more info.

  • @THExVETERAN im sorry i mean visiontek radeon hd 6950 but anyways would that bottleneck and if so how badly

  • what is the benchmark program link?

  • do the fan bracket support the same bracket as AM3

  • omg... I am SOoooooooo Excited for BullDozer :D

  • hey im thinking of getting this cpu or apu and uh i was wondering if i should get a descrete graphics card or do that hybrid cross fire thing with an entry level card?

  • @henokeskinder Trust me on this, this is the kinda CPU that would be in office PC's, I would strongly reccomend you get a proper dedicated CPU, and a Graphics card seperate

  • Comment removed

  • @BurningArtsStudios wait so what cpu's would u recommend cuz im kind of new to building pc's i've done alot of reading on this but im just going around forums and stuff and taking polls now so if anyone else is reading this comment comment below saying ur recommended cpu. i appreciate it ^_^

  • @henokeskinder It depends on what your going to be using it for, i.e if your doing very intesive games then I reccomend AMD Phenom ii x4 675 (there is an x6 version but i doubt you will need it) or you can go for a dual core model if your only doing lite gaming, but I would reccomend asking forums and such, but make sure you tell them what type of games you will play :)

  • BAM 6:47 :P

  • @oJTproductions Nice *bam*, I like bam bam! ♥ :D

  • intel fanboys are comparing apples to oranges so they can intel on top

we all know intel integrated graphics just sux

  • I like this APU, but your comparison at 5:20 with the x4 620 doesn't really make sense since it's running at a lower clock speed, so ofcourse, it will have a lower score in a cpu benchmark.

what I wonder is, will this APU be a good choice for DAW users or is it smarter to go for a beefier CPU then this Athlon II based APU? Cause that's basicly what it is. Still, very impressive product... makes it even more hard to choose hardware for a budget-minded person....

  • I wonder how it'll run minecraft, that annoyingly addictive game that is so fussy about what processors it'll run on...

  • Ill stick with my amd 6 core, I wonder if they will release an 8 core tho. I don't see anyone using 8 cores, not even 6 cores

  • @COLDICEPro AMD bulldozer will most likely be 8 , 12 or 16 cores. its coming soon check it out

  • I want to know who this APU compares to the X6 CPU, pcwizkid only shows x2 x4 and core I3

  • @Goliath002 you shouldn't compared this chip whit a high end cpu this is an APU which mean's it's for people that what a cheap desktop and good integrated graphic's on a single chip so they don't have to buy a video card if you wan't a high performance gaming computer then buy a cpu and a video card i suggest a AMD Phenom II X4 965 and a 6950 should max out any game for the next few year's cpu's don't matter that much whit game's it's the videocard that matter's most

  • @Goliath002 Me too. This APU is better than X6 or not. Hmmm. o.o

  • can this apu run counter-strike 1.6 with 100 SOLID fps?

  • @Micbuns1 lol dude it can run crysis 2 on medum settings

  • @kronicismygame thank you

  • @Micbuns1 no worries

  • quad core <3

  • I Like that APU from AMD it cool...

  • Is there thermal paste installed on the cooler that comes with it or do you have to apply it?

  • @perfect1oNN On stock heatsinks, there is usually an amount of thermal paste applied on the bottom of the cooler in the box. The only exception I've seen is Intel's stock cooler for their 6 core CPUs. All of the other ones I've seen have an adequet amount of thermal paste pre-applied to the bottom of the cooler.

  • why dont you ever show your face in any of these videos?

  • why not compared with sandybridge i3 and i5?

  • I would LIke the see a Review of the A4 and prices ty.

  • This should be used in Laptops, better than that Intel Integrated junk ...

  • price for these new boards?

  • laptop technology ftw? :D

  • Would this chip be any nice if i would want to build a small mid tower ubuntu system?

  • can any AMD GPU work for dual graphics or is it only certain ones

  • @ShoeDocter3000 The best graphics card you could use, with being able to run in "Hybrid Crossfire" mode, is a HD6670. Anything better and it will just use the video card and not the built in GPU on the chip.

  • I will wait for a better apu with 6 cores

  • @gen2sega APU with Bulldozer architecture is upcoming. You can expected at most 8 cores

  • @beautyless2 i heard the Bulldozer is not a apu its just a cpu?

  • And u can add another card psh! Sold!

  • That's what we should see AMD at the top this is awesome very nice video like!

  • so u can use this with a hd 6950 instead of the I5 2500k????

  • @ZmyhayZ yes

  • @CrossyCriss I think its a no because i saw on the that the pci-e express only works at x4

  • @ZmyhayZ wait for the bulldozer cores, there faster, and dont use built in gpu's

  • Are the graphics inside the processor good for light gaming (Team Fortress2, Star Craft 2..)? Or they just ok for casual computing..

  • @batezippi The graphics are decent enough to run today's games at medium quality. It should have no problem running TF2 or Starcraft 2 well.

  • @PenguInspiration thanks for the fast reply and info! that just may be my next platform..!

  • @batezippi You're welcome! It will become my next build as well.

  • @batezippi I can run Team Fortress 2, maxed out on a card with the same dedicated memory (512 mb DDR2)

  • Whenever I build a PC again I'll come here for the latest info =o

  • @SergioVeiga93 is it hard to flash the 6950 to a 6970

  • @CaptMidn1ght From what i have been seeing around the "NET" the new AMD Bulldozer could give the Intel 980x/990x a run for there money. They are supposed to be using the same processing method the Intel chips use. That about all i know.

  • @SergioVeiga93 and....what about an intel i7 2600k 4cores (like the a8-3850) but at 4.8Ghz also the integrated graphics chip on its max is at 1350Mhz ;D , I love amd just not for gaming , u also say that u are building a computer what about a video card , whats ur choice ;] , I need help, not sure nvidia or ati , between 560ti and hd6950 , which one would you chose cheers

  • Bad CPU. I can't believe that my Athlon II 620 is better than this... =P

  • @GamerAndReviewer well it's not just a CPU, half of the transistors are powering the graphics chip in the CPU too.

  • what was the program that was telling the fan speeds cpu temp and the voltages

in that video not the cpu z program

  • Comment removed

  • @SergioVeiga93 I don't want hate. I just want to say: Duel Xeons.

  • @CaptMidn1ght It will have 6 to 8 cores, of course it will be better.

  • @slaving300

that's terrible logic. intels current i5 2500k (4 core) is better than any processor amd has out on the market, this includes their x6's (6 cores)

more cores doesn't mean the processor is better. the 2500k fucking stomps the shit out of the x6's even in highly threaded applications, not to mention games.

  • @Tidddlez shut up fan boy!

  • @Palmetto4Liberty

I'm not a fan boy. Benchmarks don't lie.

  • @Tidddlez Mmmmmmm and that's why the i5 beats the i7 right? because less cores are better, Intel and AMD are different companys and different processors.

  • @SergioVeiga93 LOL for the win amd LOLOLO intel facebook LOLOLOL

  • @SergioVeiga93 50-65% is just i7....

but i7 extreme is better =)

  • @SergioVeiga93 No.... the intel i7 xtreme is still better than the bulldozer

  • @SergioVeiga93 If you're a hardcore gamer, wait for bulldozer and throw a descent video card in there(like a 6870 or better). These APUs are for the casual gamer who doesn't want to spend money on a video card. Don't get me wrong, they will still play all the newest games at a respectable frame rate, but they won't match a rig that has the bulldozer CPU paired with a nice video card.

  • @SergioVeiga93 It would use the 6950. As of now, the chip will only work in "Hybrid Crossfire" mode with certain graphics cards. I think, with the APU shown here, the best graphics card you could use, with being able to run in "Hybrid Crossfire" mode, is a HD6670. Hope this answers your question.

  • really?? they just bring out a quad core for amd now when theres 6 cores? wow slow much

  • Bamb!

  • @PCWizKid Please re-test with a 6670 and show "dual graphic card" benchmarks ,thanks..

  • @SergioVeiga93 You can choose to allow it to use the onboard graphics (6550D) and swap onto your Radeon HD 6950 if you want it to, which would allow low power consumption and lower temps when the extra graphics aren't necessary, but what happens with the Dual Graphics capabilities of the Motherboards able to support this processors, is that it will use both the dedicated video card and the graphics card within the processor at the same time which will improve performance

  • @mexcandiesel @SergioVeiga93 , the most powerful video card that you can use is a 6670 to use duel graphics cards.

  • @BarackMcBush *dual

  • @BarackMcBush Yeah I just found that out today when I started looking into it a little bit more, I'm kind of hoping that they open up a little bit more support within the next 6 months, that along with the fact that you can dedicate a specific amount of memory for your IGP, between 32MB and 2GB although it seems to bottle neck at 1GB, but I'm hoping for certified RAM for the processor it's self, and eventually some barebone kits for everything

  • the gpu compared to gt 220 is it better

  • Hey PCHomiedawg, do you know anything about the bulldozer delay?

  • amd KEEEP ROCKING

  • does this apu fit with any motherboard?? or it needs a special 1. and does the graphic gets a boost if used with any other graphic card?like this apu and another vga card

  • @gen2sega

    You need an FM1 motherboard

  • @gen2sega Yes the graphics do get a boost when used with another AMD video card. Like a hybrid crossfire.

  • @gen2sega Every CPU requires a motherboard with the same socket.

  • sounds like a good idea but I would rather have separate cpu and gpu

  • How much cost this A8????

  • @CHiDvDFu there for $150 at microcenter

  • 3.5Ghz BAM!!! I like it =)

  • Where did you get the NZXT Havik cooler?

  • could you do a test with dual graphic? since the latest fix for catalyz is out, very interested to see how would it performs~

  • Ugh AMD

    i7 2600K <3

  • @Eragon86micky amd bulldozer cpu would destroy i7

  • @HQGameZ the cycle will go on and each company will continually "destroy" each other

  • @HQGameZ rofl jk

  • @Eragon86micky

waste of money.. i5 2500k is more than enough, in games theres so TINY diff.

  • too bad:

video card: 512mb... (change to 2GB)

    ram: 4GB.. (change to 8GB)

  • @Eragon86micky noob

  • @nervenjere noob? just kidding lol

  • i think that its just more to go wrong all in one place... more expensive if things break! just my opinion.

  • why would i buy this instead of the phenom 2?

  • Wow I can't believe this is "integrated" graphics!

Just 3 years ago, good luck running COD on integrated @45fps lol

  • very nice

  • Bang!! Bang Bang!!

  • why get this chip instead of a cpu and a graphics card? like what is the best...selling point on it?

  • @xthatoneguyx I'm guessing price, cooling, and noise, however I don't know the price, but it must be cheaper than a good CPU/GPU separate purchase for similar bucks.

I would personally get a core i5 with a decent Radeon, like a HD5830 or something

  • cool♥

  • Awsome! It is a really good APU. Very good for HTPC or for a normal use small PC!

  • where is the video ram? on the chip or does it use the system RAM?

  • This APU is awsome, esp. for a HTPC or mATX build.

Runs most present games at med to high settings @ 720p no problems. Street Fighter 4 hits well over 100FPS on average, and Resident Evil 5 hits 60+FPS on average no problems too.

  • Some guys managed to reduce load power by over 40 watt with undervolting.

My only guess is they will be another generation of LLano later this year with drastically improved power consumption.Nothing wrong with the product 4 now but i'd rather wait t'ill they sort it out.

  • WOW AMD!!!

  • @reach313 of course not

  • is this better than x4 955 ?

  • is this bulldozer?

  • AMD Phenom 4x black edition 3.2Ghz is what I have atm :D

  • When is this coming out?

  • @Lucky3LeavedClover it is already out!

  • @AbuSaa WHAT!?!?!?! WHERE IS IT!?!
