Any person who thinks fansubs are great translations is gravely misinformed. Fansub translations are done by a bunch of white boys in their basement who have, at best, college level japanese knowledge. EVERY native japanese person who I spoke to who has seen fansubs have said the same thing: Translation sucks, or mediocre at best.

Some fansubs are good. But I think the problem Ar TeMiSFowl had is that Odex has been caught twice copying fansubs. Fansubs are supposed to be free, we shouldn't be paying a company to give us them.

I don't think it's right for Odex to pass off fansubs, that are supposed to be free, as product that they made themselves. That's why we pay for the licensed product.
