I think of myself that I'm an intellectual person in professional areas (I teach at an university among other things like projects, contracts, etc.. in automotive engineering domain).. but at all time I had and have a social life filled with party, girlfriends, and lots of tobacco and alcohol - not something that I'm proud of, but it's ok. It's best not to mix the hangout at the pub with work and with home.. they're separate things

Basically good to the point but I see Dork to mean only a specific "socially incompetent" person, namely the ignorant kind.

I believe the etymology of Dork to come from "door key kid" thus meaning someone with not enough parental attention.

It helps to distinguish between normal nerds (who are already supposed to be socially incompetent or "different") and nerd-dorks (who don't get it, that they are different and should stick to each other).

Imo, it's not a proud subgroup, only an insult.
