  • I tried this for me party, and the only complaint was that I didn't make enough! My guests loved it and asked me for the recipe. I altered the recipe a little bit. In stead of ketchup, i used tomato sauce. I doubled the recipe and added garlic powder to the chicken marinade. Also, I made the marinade first, set aside, and then used the same pan to shallow fry the marinated chicken pieces on med. high heat where it have it a nice brown color. Then I added back the onion marinade. Thanks xoxoxo

  • @Lboogie53180 Fantastic!! And great ideas for substitutions and additions. In the cooking classes that I teach locally as well as on my you tube videos, I always say the recipe is a guideline and I encourage everyone to be creative and substitute and customize to your liking. Thanks for sharing!!

  • can this recipe me made the night before and taste as good? I have a party to host next week and one of my guests wants chilli chicken

  • @Lboogie53180 You can make the marinade (without adding chicken) and the tangy sauce a day in advance. But I would add the chicken to the marinade at least an hour before you cook the chicken. Chicken tastes better the day it is made. Once you cook the chicken then add the pre made tangy sauce and simmer according to the directions. Hope this helps. Happy & Healthy New Year!

  • @theflexcook thanks so much. i picked this recipe to try for my party because i can make the marinade a day before. and marinate the chicken in the morning and just cook it very fast during the party. I couldn't find green chilli so I used the red dried chilli. I may also add a little stock to for some gravy, but maybe I won't need it. thanks again! ;)

  • @Lboogie53180 Good idea - using red chili as a substitute. By the way you can also use jalapeno pepper too. Good luck and I'm sure the dish will turn out great!

  • dis is not chilli chicken....v have 2 apply smashed egg over chicken pieces before frying....

  • @silvesterlishil There are a variety of ways to make chili chicken - chinese, north indian, andra indian etc. This dish is similar to indo-chinese chili chicken. That's the great thing about cooking - versatility!

  • Great to make, I made 4lb instead of 2lb, but when it came to the simmer it's difficult as there's no water in the dish, I just turned off and let sit. Was great to taste, :) thank you for your time and effort to show others

  • This is the perfect wife for any man.

  • What a cute woman. The chicken looks like it is great too, spicy hot with all of those chilis with the seeds. I will have to make this for a party soon. thank you.

  • Sexy girl sexy hot dish

  • This ain't chilli chicken...just because you add a few chillies N green pepper...doesn't make it chilli chicken...a lot of the ingredients were missing....'N the procedure was all wrong...there are other videos on here....that are much more authentic....and if followed correctly will give the desired results....!!!!

  • greetings from Australia. Cooked your chili chicken exactly as you showed. It was amazingly good. I am looking for more of your recipes. Great stuff.

  • is chilli chicken and chicken chilli similar dish...well when i make chicken chilli ...as far asi know there should be capsicum to give extra taste....and onion cut into big size but all separated....

  • One thing about this dish is that there are many ways to prepare it. I've tried it with and without bell peppers and enjoyed it both ways. This was my take on the dish and i do hope you give it a try. Best Wishes, Bindu

  • There so many variations of this dish, but i love the way your recipe turned out... closer to the taste of my favourite hakka restaurant. Consider this a huge compliment as I am crazy for chili chicken and have tried it from many, many different restaurants. It's a hard dish to get right, most restaurants don't do it justice. But i think you've given people a great basis on it....Very useful video, thanks Bindu!!

  • Thank you. Bhabhi-gee. I am going to try this today. Keep up the good cooking. Keep posting more videos.

  • Mmmm.. chili chicken was my favorite meat dish while visiting India! Thank you for posting this. I can't wait to try this for myself. I'm defintely subscribing to you! I can't wait to see your other videos. :D

  • Thanks and I'm so glad you enjoyed this dish. It's one of my favorites too! Spice Up Your Life is available online and in select B&N and Borders bookstores. Hope you check it out.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

    Best Wishes, Bindu
