Lauren has some problems with her high notes - she doesn't have the power that Carrie possesses and Carrie has always had that power factor even as a young singer of 13 - I really like Lauren's voice and believe that she shouldn't try to reach for the power notes - she should just sing in her range and she will do extremely well.She definitely has the talent, whether she makes it big in country music will be up to her fans and the country music industry

I love her and Lauren. They are my all-time favs. Of course she is better than Lauren here - she's at least 5 years older and more confident. I hope they sing a song together during the finale.

I love Carrie and she sang this song so much better than Lauren, but I think Lauren is more energetic than Carrie. That must count for something. And the judges aren't there to make a comparison between the performance of season 10's contestants and past contestants. I bet they don't even remember Carrie's version of this song. I mean, I watched it last time in december and I didn't remember she sang this song as well. Bottom line, Carrie - point 4 the vocal; Lauren - point for stage presence.

@analya24 I disagree I think Lauren's stage presence doesnt seem to come naturally to her. It seems like she's trying to have stage presence. I don't think she has any self confidence. Dont get me wrong, i think she's great but i feel like she cant handle all the pressure that comes with being an idol. she just comes off as a talented self conscious teenager. either way shes already in the finale so she'll do great either way.

@TheClarinetist2009 i dunno about better than carrie, but i noticed that when she performs with someone else she tends to outshine the person shes singing with. i dunno why she does that. i think maybe she psyches herself out. little kids can have tremendous stage presence too. i dont think someone has to be a certain age to have stage presence. but we'll see. with more time and experience she could really wow someone.

@TheClarinetist2009 Carrie has a much more powerful and controlled vocals than lauren. She had this much power even when she was 13. Lauren is not bad though. Carrie is just has incredible pipes that not a lot have.

i agree in some terms because well you got to think lauren is 16 and carrie was like 22 when she sang this and as of again lauren was 16 and i love the comment randy said if u got it you got it and lauren and carrie definitaly got it i just think lauren will grow up and be better than carrie cause well laurens got the pipes she just got to to expand and control then she will be better

Why did none of the judges draw any comparisons to Carrie's version when Lauren did this? I think I know. Because Carrie's blew Lauren's out of the park! Their bias toward Lauren is unfair to the other contestants.

I've been looking for this performance literally for the past five years. Thank you for posting it! As I said to a friend earlier this evening, you know a performance is good when you remember it vividly after FIVE years. I definitely remembered it.
