The owl has some connection to Lord Darcia the first, the person who wrote "The Book of the Moon" (if i remember correctly).
In the credits it is the same person who does the voice for the owl and Lord Darcia the first. (or was it in the episode where it starts off reading from "The Book in the Moon", the Owl was in the credits even though he never appeared in that episode, meaning he was the voice)
Maybe he was cursed to be a ghost of an owl for all eternity for trying to enter paradise.
I think I know what the owl meant. That owl was very pessimistic...
Basically Paradise will never cease to open and will never cease to be tainted. That no matter what the world is destined to die. But you cant die unless you live first, and that's what the entire anime was about.
Uh, the way i interpreted that quote was that if you wanna find something, don't look for it and it'll come to you. At least, that's the what I took it to mean... ^_^
"Go astray! Go astray! Answers always lay in confusion!"
Your confused because your trying to find the answers. If you "go astray" and let yourself be confused you'll find them, so to speak. It makes me wonder why the owl stalked Kiba in the forest, and Garden of Eternity...?
Suspicious owl is the owl. Wolves look delicious to the bugs. They came into the forest and couldn't find their way out. They were lost together and left together as one. Well done.
His rhymes are weird. Poor owl probably flew around trapped until he went to get water and died of thirst, or he found the way out and got eaten by the bugs, hence the bones in the cave where the exit is...
Might have helped wolves to get revenge against the forest or got set free because they were able to escape, hence why he's seen in the later epps as possibilities. o0;
no, no when the wolves first met the owl, the owl was a ghost. Thats why Tsume said " Theres no scent on him" and also the owl told them to enter the cave so they could get water and so they could see the dead bones of that owl. lol.
This is my favourite song from the whole soundtrack, kudos to you for uploading it! I love it's eerie sound, it's written so well. The beginning with the flute playing that one note in the silence...brr! Gives me the chills!
I was watching the owl scenes with my friends in the dark, and the owl scared me so bad with his voice and looks. I had nightmares for weeks! This song is sorta like him... *hides*
Yeah the owl was very odd, I couldn't tell the message either. Every time it showed him I would think "here we go again" lol. I still can't figure out the meaning of his riddles. But, the owl is a very memorable character. :)
ugg the owl was annoying but i like this song:P

It doesn't matter if anything can make sense, it matters if sense can make! Just something to think about.

@Nilesdaughter: From what you say there, it could be the owl is saying, stop looking for answers, you will only become confused.

What a wonderful song. Sounds like a combination of the Chinese and Arabian dances from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker.

That is part of what the quote means, certainly. But even then what doesn't make sense is how that makes sense.

Oh yes, the owl was certainly a strange character; but I still managed to find him amusing. I never really understood his riddles though.
Anyways, it's a lovely piece, tying up with 'Shiro, Long Tail' for my second favorite piece of music from the anime.
'Friends' is my absolute favorite though.
