  • Can someone tell me what they are singing near the end? It doesn't sound like they are singing in English. Is it a different language?

  • @MelJelloFreak yes African.

  • Happy birthday!!!

  • One of my absolute fav songs.... ever... Loved it when it first came out & love it more now... :-)

  • Seal wishes he was Peter Gabriel, SO bad.

  • @alexmortland wow...I never realized until now how true this statement is.

  • still a good song

  • i hope your daughter is healthy and well. God will bless her, B. Love, Des

  • I love music today. I'm a very open minded person musically. But this kind of music is totally missing, it really is.

  • One of the best songs ever :) LOVE LOVE LOVE. And I'm 15, lol. One that appreciates good music.

  • @ubeentoasted Gooooooooood :)

  • it's just ansome soooooooooo fucking good

  • LOVE this song being an 80's child a film classic who when listening to this isn't transported to that memorable scene under her window with this on the boombox awwwwwww love it!

  • And then they broke up... Peter and Roseanna didn't make it long, but this song is a beautiful prayer to love.

  • that little bit after 2:17...if emotion can be translated into song, that is IT.

  • Does the mix sound off??? His voice doesn't cut through very well. Or at least on my speakers, anyway.

  • Awesome song!

  • Songs like this remind me why I love being an 80s child, so I can proudly say I came when good music wasn't completely dead. Men like Peter make me hopeful that those days will one day return, without a doubt one of the best.

  • @ketsusama music made a full circle :) i'm saying that as an 80s kid.. the saddest thing is that they have to work a lot harder now to produce it and it will probably never be recognized like this. xtc was never big either so it all depends on the taker i suppose

  • "that sounds awful!"

"thats because im not peter gabriel! im gabriel byrnes!"

    "ohh *throws*"

  • Best Peter Garbriel song ever, though I also love "Red Rain" and "I Grieve"

  • One of the best songs ever

  • @HeadHigh8SaintPete obviously that's why i wrote it.

  • Do you ever think with the easy pop crap we're bombarded with these days we'll ever see another Peter Gabriel? I pray we do, otherwise I'm just another cynical 30 something asshole who doesn't love music with the same passion as I did when I was a kid.

    '

  • @kylemas2005 I doubt that it will be the same genre as Peter Gabriel. This is just music from that generation. - Think of it this way... it takes a certain amount of open mindedness for a younger person to appreciate music like this, simply because it's hard to relate to for them.

Why would you be any different?

music today doesn't exist entirely on popular radio and on TV. If you want to find music you love, you have to look for it. There are so many more options now than 20 years ago.

  • I've been looking for this song for WEEKS! I can't believe I found it!!! I LOVEEE THIS SONG!!! Is it in a movie? I heard it in art class and remembered hearing it a couple years back and LOVING it!

  • @AnonYmous2797 It's in the movie "Say Anything"

Famous scene with John Cusack hold a boombox over his head, blasting this song! Love the movie!!

  • @80jamiesgirl I THOUGHT it was familiar! I'm-a-goin 2 watch that movie again!

  • @AnonYmous2797

    It was in "Say Anything"

  • Great song. It says so much about the beauty of women in so many ways.

  • @TheMegachacha123 you're actually right, hearing this now it really should have, it would have fit so well :)

  • @TheMegachacha123 He and Phil Collins used to be in the same band!

  • @TheMegachacha123 every time i hear this song i think the exact samething!?!

  • @TheMegachacha123 lol well yeah

Entire Tarzan soundtrack was done by Phil Collins

Both Phil and Peter were part of Genesis

  • @TheMegachacha123 all people from the band genesis lol

  • @TheMegachacha123 Thats Phil but close enough i guess haha

  • @TheMegachacha123 lol tarzan had the best soundtrack ever

  • @TheMegachacha123 this is not phil collins.

  • @drillwhore No dah! I'm just saying it sounds like something that could be on tarzan

    -______-

  • @TheMegachacha123 Peter Gabriel was vocals in Genesis. Phil Collins later took up his spot, and he supplied the theme for Tarzan. This track sounds like something from Tarzan because both are related to the musical style of the same band.

  • Sarah Barellie's version is awesome too:)

  • wow amazing song. I have this record somewhere in my garage -.- love peter gabriel and this song and the movie Say Anything which I want my man to play this song outside my bedroom window!!!:D LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • 13 people think Genesis is a Hyundai.

  • @CoolLikePenguinNuts genesis is a car made by Hyundai.

  • @zeek3177 That joke went completely over your head. If you are indeed fencing sacasm with sarcasm. It's dry, but funny, and I get it. If you are being literal... Then, you should ask your parents.

  • Oh ma gaw this came out the year I was born!? I remember this being a favourite as far back as I can remember, musta been jammin in the womb..with my serious jam face lol d( -_-)b

  • I really like all of his music

  • this reminds me of the film "say anything" where it's the cutest part ever when lloyd holds up the radio up in the air, brings a tear to my eye!

  • @ggggmoma Me too - that's where I first became aware of this song. That movie is also one of my all-time favorites...

  • @ggggmoma it should remind you since that scene had this song playing

  • Thanks for this version.

  • thumbs up if 'say anything' brought you here!

  • Peter Gabriel reminds me an episode from South Park.

    Like it, Thanks :)

  • The beat has such a haunting quality to it.

  • love the music in this tune. african/piano/synth. proppah moosic

  • This reminds me of Tarzan from the Disney movie :3

  • someone asked me the other day how old this song was...they couldn't believe it was from '86. Proof that it truly is timeless :)

  • This song has so much heart and life to it, it's wonderful.

  • 12 people don't have ears.

  • this song touches my soul

  • I've discretely loved Peter Gabriel for years, just could never remember songs or his name untill I searched hard enough :)

  • This is something we need to hold in our heart. Do not give up !

  • This is deffinetly my favorite song ever, everytime i say i have a new favorite song it just dies on me and its this one again<3

  • INCREDIBLY GREAT SONG!!! :-)

  • Oh it's you I see everyday now why has our world been changed since I have met you?

Oh it's you I see perfectly in every way now why hide this?

Oh it's you I see happy to be where you are with me now why to me is this new?

Oh it's you I see with that hair long and brown now why does everybody want the same look as you they write it on their to-do list.

Oh it's you I see with those eyes oh I can't stop looking at those eyes glossy tone of blue and green they sparkle even in the night.....

  • So pretty.

  • Amazing.

  • This song hasn't aged a day since it was released. Meanwhile, I have aged considerably!

  • @siasti Music is the most beautiful thing that human mind could create!!

  • Comment removed

  • @siasti No you haven't :)

  • hhhmmnnnn....... certainly rented space in my head. You know who you are and why I am thinking this way.

  • 12 people have something in their eyes

  • John Cuzack, holding a boombox outside my window. That's every girl's dream(:

  • @rrreaderrabbit Not my dream. My dream is Josh Cusick holding a boombox outside my window. Not a celebrity.

  • @TheEsperanza243 ...isn't that what I said?

  • @rrreaderrabbit Sorry. Got confused of the name you used.

  • @rrreaderrabbit

    Not to be too creepy...

It is also every real Man's desire to do this for this for the woman he loves.

    I love you post.

My girl, she is older than me, would kill me if I did this, but she would maybe Love me even more than she does.

I hope you have a good man in your life.

you are definetely a "girl" who deserves John Cuzack.

    Legionearean

  • Just close your eyes and let the lyrics move your soul. No other visual or auditory stimuli needed. That is Amazing musicianship and love for a global world...no hate or negativity needed. If once doesn't work try again or try Red Rain.

  • SNL Spoof of John Cusack holding the stereo, with Joseph Gordon Levitt. That's what brought ME here.

  • Love this song, love this movie!!

  • Local bar an grill has a live band on friday nights....sometimes the other members will get time to sing their covers up front on the mic........the drummer sang this song last friday.....he did absolutely amazing an i believe even peter gabriel himself would have applauded this guy!

  • Sara Pezzini riding on a motorcycle with Death himself on a date.

which fills my soul with love

I long to see the light of your eyes"

  • I first heard this song in a David Copperfield show. It is magical...

  • My Favorite song in the whole world :)

  • Thinking he was Phil Collins brought me here. The both played in Genesis, so I was close.

  • Peter Gabriel was the lead singer for Genesis before Phil Collins.

  • @JIMMYCICH22 Good job!

  • peter were are you?

  • @fredrik103 He's in Chile as I write.

  • John cusick was in a movie, dont think it was big fish, maybe i am wrong, great song!

  • @skardam yes this song is in what is probably considered the most famous scene in Say Anything.

  • Yet another song that brought me through some tough times. Great song.

  • This was in the movie "say anything".....with John Cusack

  • every time i hear this song i see John Cuzack holding up a radio. I fell in love with John and this song in the same instance!!!

  • @hotgothtink4u john cusack advocates sublime music.great guy.

  • @cosmicrider287 you MORONS.. its not as if HE had any say in the soundtrack, you mindless FUCKS...clueless or what.It was put there by the producer director who ALSO has no taste in music and knows fuck all about what this "deep thinking asshole" is REALLY all about. The dumb luciferian fuck that he is

  • @strangecluesinfriday well,excuse me.

  • @cosmicrider287 LOL...ok.. that was funny :) I appreciate good humour :)

  • @strangecluesinfriday Dude, take a powder. Sometimes, it isn't just about what's meaningful at that time, but also exposure for a tune or an artist, which is what happens soundtrack selection. Sometimes their first choice will not take the opportunity, or they are not available. Good example: Muse was on MOST of the Twilight saga stuff, but is not on the last two soundtracks, both of them are the Breaking Dawn movies. They were not available. I can come up with other examples too.

  • @powertriofan3 heres a thought.FUCK THE MUSIC(if you can call the boring drivel that). It's about what this asshole is REALLY all about. He's been a luciferian ALL along. To each his own? FUCK that.NOT when you influence others by subliminal means. He's been exposed and proved to be doing just that.Google"Peter Gabriel luciferian".There will be sites, vids, etc exposing him as using Illuminati symbolism as far back as the 80s.NUFF SAID.

  • @strangecluesinfriday shut the fuck up. really. try, if a guys religious and wants to put it in his music, hats off to him. Is he holding a gun to your head? no? then shut up. listen to different music and if you don't like it

  • @motorcityauthor religious???What the fuck kind of brainwashed ASSHOLE are you ?Hes the exact OPPOSITE... get it ?

  • @strangecluesinfriday i'm a theologist, and personally a wiccan. and luciferianism is similar to satanisim. thats still a religion. and if he wants to write a song inviting us to his human sacrifice, he can. i wouldent go, i don't belive in satan, but i would at least respect his religion. and btw, satanisim, luciferianisim, and the like are the opposite of CHRISTIANITY no religion. speak not of which you know nothing BRAINWASHED ASSHOLE. And also, have a nice day.

  • @strangecluesinfriday The Hell with you. Seriously. Dude you must be an ANGRY Genesis fan... upset because HE left the band. (Not Genesis kicked him out... Gabriel LEFT.) There's too much anger about stupid stuff. And for the record, I have been surrounded by music since the day I was born, and continue to work in music. That's how I KNOW how it works for movies. They do NOT use any basis unless the controversy is TOO HUGE not to cover over.

  • @powertriofan3 heres a thought with NO deep significance or relevance to this matter... FUCK ... YOU ... :)

  • @hotgothtink4u

I would never marry a girl with that low standard for love.

Yes the song is absolute top, but the Cuzack szene is the low end love expression.

  • @hotgothtink4u You know that you and it is suspected 99% of the females that saw that scene experienced the same exact thing, which is an amazing social phenomenon. It has been written about.

  • @hotgothtink4u

    Yes!

  • @hotgothtink4u

I think of John Cusack holding that cassette-radio

player over his head whenever I hear this song, too!

  • i love this song.

  • He kind of looks like Will from Will and Grace in this picture lol

  • Josh Ferro holding a stereo outside your window, playing this song

  • John Cusack holding a stereo outside your window, playing this song.

  • @houseofgaunt Love. Only if Ione Skye was on the other end. 1 Love.

  • @houseofgaunt The movie is Some Kind of Wonderful. Lea Thompson and Mary Stuart Masterson were the love interests.

  • @houseofgaunt Lol what movie is that in?

  • @oaklandrmoss18 That was on the movie "Say Anything." It was a good movie that was underrated.

  • @houseofgaunt ...I'd put out.

  • @houseofgaunt classic.

  • Added to favourites tyvm for posting.

  • This song is dedicated to a beautiful angel named Annamarie Impriano whose infinite, warm and passionate love I lost on Monday, September The Twenty - Sixth, 2011. Anna, the beautiful angel that set my soul in a conflagration more intense than fires from ten thousand suns when I first saw your angelic countenance on Sunday, June The Twenty - Sixth, 2011, I am sorry if I hurt you or caused pain. Godspeed and good luck. You will always find a place in my heart. Joey Santacecilia

  • @pennstatefan i'm sorry for your loss

  • @Slipknot5301 Thank you. I appreciate your concern. It hurts, but I'll make it.
