In the early 90s a comp of "Stairway to Heaven" covers called "Stairways to Heaven" came out. Being an Aussie compilation, it featured Rolf Harris doing a digeridoo'ed-up comedy folk interpretation of the song. Also featured was this, The Australian Doors Show's, cover of the tune.
Australia seemed to have a number of tribute groups during the early 90s; for example, Bjorn Again was an Australian ABBA homage group.
Never thought I'd see this, so thanks for posting. :-)
benlos, yah I don't know if we're thinking along the same lines but... I thought they did a great job as Jim Morrison and The Doors. and STH in the Doors' fashion was good IMHO. the only negative I find in this is that JM's legendary and enjoyable low drawl changes to passionate howls which is fine of course, but that would have better suited Jim's own enigmatic poetic prowess. this performance of Stairway's lyrics was lackluster and devoid of meaning for me.
My best friends is a dedicated DOORS fan and I spoofed him with this unique performance which he truly thougth was the DOORS until I pointed that the song was released 4 months after Morrisons death :-) But he still think it is amazing.
Just like when the Beatniks did this same song....and made it fit the style....so do these guys make it fit the Doors style perfectly. AWESOME....very well done!!! A good song....is a good song no matter who does it!!
This is not the Beatnix, it is the Australian Doors Show. Every week the show The Money Or The Gun would bring in a tribute band to do this in the style of their band.
wtf? 100% doors sound!

Gazooblebork, this is the wrong video description. It's not the Beatnix (Beatles imitators) but Doors imitators doing the song in a Doors style.
