Hey Randy. Man, am I jealous of where you live. LOL. Long Island gets nothing to speak of, regarding tornadoes. I know, I know, count my blessings. But, I need to be near, if not within severe weather man, it's in my soul.
Anyway, the wheat field ends up looking like a lake with an intense, fast-moving current. Truly awesome!
I don't get the idea of inflow and outflow. I'm trying to do a presentation (for school) on how thunderstorms form but I get stuck at this particular bit every time.
@Faabfabulous Google "how thunderstorms form" and you should find plenty of resources to help you. Also "thunderstorm inflow" and "thunderstorm outflow" will get you some good links. Good luck on your project!
@Faabfabulous A thunderstorms inflow is Usualy its source of fuel , low level warm inflow is what you want to see speeding into the storm. A thunderstorms outflow would be upper air in the atmosphere being pulled down and spread accros the surface..... Inflow should be flowing into the storms updraft base and the outflow should be on the forwardflank of the storm causing the shelf cloud appearence. This is a quick summary and really there and many different ways inflow and outflow can take place
@PeaceLoveDance16 Search my other videos and you'll find an unedited video of this storm chase. I was not in its path of this particular storm so not afraid of it but others that formed around me a little later made my exit from this remote area quite interesting.
Amazing. The wheat moving like that just makes me wanna dive in it LOL. I love how the wind blowing through the power lines makes the sound and that light in the horizon goes out because of the power outage. It added more creepiness to it! 5/5. Great vid.
@NathanTozer98 Correct. I once played this video for friends and intentionally turned the contrast and brightness down so they could get a better idea how this really looked. It was much more ominous in person.
your going to have to be prepared. you guys in the midwest are in for a crazy ride for the summers to come. Stay safe man, its only going to get worse.
Oh my this post is amazing, I've watched it several times and it mesmorises me, the wheat field looks like an ocean on fire! Saving it to my playlist, thanks for sharing your good work 'randy946' x
its not that offten but we get one to 4 of these during the summer time in texas and it does scare the shit out of me when you get hit by huge gust that sund like trains
Man if I saw this, I would be in the hospital on account of fainting! The clouds are so dark, and the howling noise in the background adds to the eerieness! (shudder)
Great, 5/5. I remember that day ( live in tx panhandle 40-50 miles away. That turned into a massive wedge, if I remember right. Tx pnhmdle had set a record, with twenty six separate tornados that evening. A high risk day, btw.
We just had a real prizewinner here in Buffalo earlier this afternoon! It got dark enough at 1:00PM to kick the streetlights on and it poured so hard I couldn't see five feet in front of me!
Detailed information is given in the video's description. It was taken in the Oklahoma panhandle a few miles west of the small town of Adams looking west and northwest. The storm was moving northeast between Guymon, OK and Liberal, KS.
Yes, or more accurately, winds the storm causes when it sucks air into itself which then rises and creates the thunderstorm. In this case the wind was already out of the southeast and I was southeast of the storm so the inflow in this direction was multiplied and was quite strong.
Wow nice lightning man, good work. A tippical american storm. Which never will been seen in The Netherlands. Is this made in tornado alley or not, I think that it is.

I'd love to see this type of weather in a video game, most developers tend to neglect weather.

And alt of game devs can learn from videos like this on animating blowing grass in heavy winds like this.
