Great video and very funny.. I appreciate this approach to training. I am tyhowardthepmcoach(com) I invite you to join ghostrade a new generation commerce portal founded by PMI Award Winning Ty Howard, PMP (and CIO Magazine Leader's to watch). I invite you to join Ghostrade(com) to witness the fruits of labor in regards to PM work and strategic planning.
Seems the producer was trying to present the scrum way in a funny way... But I think scrum won't work unless you have a group of experienced developers ...
Agile development with scrum is a proven method to quickly release software in small iterations. I find it a fun, fast-paced, intellectual environment that brings out the best in me. Ok, and some of the worst in me too. The video was hilarious - Where's the tape? - The restatement of scrum values at the end was invaluable.
Ouch, this really shows why scrum is still not adopted well at the enterprise level. Product development should be fun - but also thoughtful and exciting. This makes it look like child's play. Sorry.
azexperiment, that's exactly what we were trying to accomplish in the video: have fun, teach a message or two. We had a great deal of fun with it and it took us out of our 'serious' training that we normally do. I'm glad a few people are enjoying it. We like working with Scrum, and you're right: take good practices from whatever experiences you have and make the most of it! :-) Scrum on! Let's make product development FUN!!
In my opinion this is an informative and fun video. More like a bunch of geniuses parodying scrum meetings while educating viewers.
Take what you feel are the value added parts and apply them to your projects. SDLC, waterfall, Agile, Scrum, PMP, RAD, JAD all have beneficial elements that can be scaled and applied to different projects. Thanks for sharing dylan23j.
You, too, radarrider. This "fad" has been around for 50 years - IID - go check it. It works. It's called empirical process and it works quite well for complex projects. Oh, and go read some Drucker while you're at it. Word.
All of this "crap", bayazet, is really helping teams and companies maximize customer value the world over. This video was created by some trainers who agree that having fun now and then never really hurt anybody. Sorry you feel this way, but why don't you take your crap comments somewhere else? Thanks!
All this Agile eXtreme programming, srum created for management and most of the managers are mental impotents. thanks God I work in a small busy company so we don't have time for this crap.
pathetic corporate fad for raping the ordinary worker and humiliating him even more easily since the boss doesn't even have to do it himself... very clever.
makes me so glad not to be working in a company any more and having to submit to hateful hypocrite "teamwork" like this.
manage yourself : well quite, because if you can't, you're an idiot and have no place in development to start with and should be fired.

Micro managing
Time wasting meetings
Critical members are not involved in the meeting (e.g., IT), thus, an incomplete team
Yet, people do very little except do the minimum that they have to do that will pass in the next morning's scrum meeting

I agree with dietsolution. I think this looks like a business meeting from American Idiocracy movie. Sorry... I just don't think this is productive.

A daily scrum meeting is used by the team to sync up and self-manage in order to meet its sprint commitments.
