If congress was a school class, all members of congress are flunking miserably to that exact thing of keeping P.E., sports, and fitness in schools. Kids are much more overweight compare to when I was in school, having more doctors visits, and are diagnosed with high blood pressure, diabetes, and other heart problems for being overweight. I never really knew his background, or where he came from, or what made him do what he does today. I'm glad i saw this, because now I don't see Richard isn't "that gay guy" anymore. As long as it is there, there needs some changes. I've noticed schools focusing on sports. The kids who don't know how to play are stuck there why teachers help very little. Why not something that EVERYONE can do? Something nobody can show off to eachother, fair game and intensive.

I've seen NYC schools that don't let the kids have outdoor recess. The kids have to have recess in the classroom. Then they feed the kids "healthy snacks" like:
-flavored rice cakes
-granola bars
-chocolate wafers
-chocolate covered nuts
The school lunches are garbage too. Obama's health plan will get us nowhere if schools feed the kids garbage and no exercize.

Sweatin to the Oldies is still one of my favorite work-outs after 30 years. This guy deserves respect. He has a true heart that is dedicated to the health of others. You can see his passion in his face and hear it in the emotion of his speech. He is all about love. And isn't the what it's all about anyway?

I used to lvoe watching this guy on TV when I was a kid.
Back in the 1980's, there were fewer McDonalds everywhere, schools didn't have soda machines, and kids always had outdoor recess.
Now there's a McDonald's everywhere, schools have soda machines, and no outdoor recess. Schools are afraid of insurance lawsuits.

Good luck getting HFCS, trans fats, and hydrogenated oils out of the grocery stores and schools where people are presented with their nutrition choices. Pepsi would scream murder because soda is a major fat builder and they'd be the first to go. Non-processed or minimally processed foods do not belong in a special health nut section. Sometimes its all about how the school is, which is reason why kids are doing bad in school, rather it's there grades or PE, school is where your suppose 2 have fun and learn, not just sit there and wateva.
Alot of problems with schools today, thats why rich people spend millions to send there kids to private schools because some parents really do care.

I've seen NYC schools that don't let the kids have outdoor recess. The kids have to have recess in the classroom. Then they feed the kids "healthy snacks" like:
-flavored rice cakes
-granola bars
-chocolate wafers
-chocolate covered nuts
The school lunches are garbage too. Obama's health plan will get us nowhere if schools feed the kids garbage and no exercize.

This made me get teary eyed. I am only roughly 30 pounds overwieght. its starting to really show. I want to get on this before Im on that path. Richard Simmons and The Biggest Looser have tought me to not look down on people who are obeise(sp?)and to try to keep myself from becoming obiese. Hes my hero. LOVE YOU RICHARD!
