@zhamilton91 wow very mature. what do your bodily functions have to do with the sound of a baritone sax?! this video shows a model that was DISCONTINUED in late 2007. look at some of the saxgourmet videos to hear the current baritone sax.
@MrBrandoniscool69 you must be high on crack. i play a Steve Goodson, after switching from a Selmar 77a Eb baritone. the steve goodson is FAR superior to the selmar which is crap in comparison to this horn thats being demonstrated
@rosski47 ah. sorry I blast haters, basically meaning non-saxophone players who think they know what the hell they're talking about and sometimes i miss little jokes
I play a Yanagisawa 901 bari and love it. Every high school concert/jazz band that I saw when i was in high had yamaha's.They are great horns. i believe that hands down the yani gives a deeper, richer sound than the yamahas. the key problem that Mr. Goodson talks about here is not the case on the yani's. the key work feels very good and even.when you are looking at bari's take a hard look at a Yani. They blow different than the yamaha so don't shove them away if all you have played are yamahas.
I have a Yanagisawa. I like it a lot, I would need to practice more of course to get the best out of it. But still, I like it a lot and I havent done any service on it for about teen years.
Well play them but, I personally love a Keilwerth Shadow bari (or SX90R) the yamaha 62 Is a lovely are kinda cheap bari. Those are my two choices, GOOD LUCK
no kidding, I've only played my friends but, he is a mainly bari player and he is going to college for music so instead of buying a new car he bought a new bari. I play our school 62, we happened to get a new 62 so I am VERY fortunate on that stroke of luck. And I played yamaha 52's in middle school, it played great and that was when my main alto was a OLD yamaha 52.
He took my Selmer Mark VII in for consignment sale in 1998 and when I contacted him about it last year to get it back, he made out like he didn't know what I was talking about. He's either still got my horn or (more likely) he sold it and just pocketed the money.
I still have the original paperwork in his own handwriting from 1998 where I took the horn to him.
Where was he hitting the bow? The horn will roar though. The bari feels like a tenor but it doesn't sound like one. That's Derek's tenor playing coming out. Put a Berg on that thing and it roars.
sounds kinda reedy to me. i mean i love the horn, but the guy's sound was not all that great. now his tenor sound is absolutely incredible. i love it.
im sorry if my other comment offended anyone, i just think that if your gonna have someone show off a bari, they should have a big fatty bari sound, not a thin edgy tenor sound, once again no offence intended.
...we know.

Because the rod is on the other side, it uses less force, it's more rapid like a normal key.

It sounds like
Bernie's Tune from Jerry Mulligan
He may have made that song during the mid 50's.
I'm guessing around 1956 or 1955
He was a great Baritone Saxophone Player

Starting at 0:32 several times. The other tard sees it, and lets Steve hit it repeatedly.
