I have a request, please post as much of this performance as possible. Thank you!!! This is one of the best things I have ever heard. Do you have the finale of Act 2?
THANK YOU for posting this. It is incredible and wonderful. This is one of my favorite operas and deserves to be heard more. This is a riveting performance. Who is the conductor?
Thanks very much for your message and glad you enjoyed this piece ! What a performance, it was indeed an electrical evening... I remember long.long minutes of the standing ovation the audience applausing at the end of the performance!
I totally agree with you about "I Due Foscari" which I really consider as a masterpiece. Verdi (as well as Donizetti, Bellini. Rossini etc.) has composed real jewels you do not hear very often:
"Stiffelio", "Alzaira", "Jérusalem" etc. almost never performed and this is a real shame. We always have the same, and of course popular, works.
The conductor is Daniele Gatti (excellent and able to have all singers and chorus in perfect harmony), you can see more details about this performance by clicking on "more info"
Glad you also appreciate M. Chernov, indeed a great baryton and an impressive presence on stade... real charma! I will post of him in "I due Foscari" and "Giovanna d'Arco" also in Govent Garden...
Chernov is absolutely one of the greatest singers of all time.

every time is a ritual when i hear his special presence... it is not a voice: he is a real priest, a bridge to god himself...

he is my love, and this is absolutely TRUE.

I haven't noticed that before, but Chernov sounds here very similar with Titto Gobbi..
Thanks
