Hi, Ive bought a peel 520 2G and it have worked perfect in 2-3 month, but when I updated my iPod to IOS 5.0.1 I got som problems. The peel is ON and I can see the icons on the statusbar, but in the call app, settings it says:OF!? I cant send/recive any sms or calls. So please, Help me!

from what i know, the bug in terms of the volume of the music does work now (i broke my ipod so i cant use my peel until i fix my ipod so i cant confirm this)

hey ok, well the peel520 is brand new and boxed (unopened) the way that i will be selling it is once someone is actually interested to buy it and does actually want to buy it for sure i will post it up on ebay in which they can then buy it for the price agreed amongst us (this way i dont have to waste money by putting it up again and again and also through ebay would mean secure paypal payment so no dodgy business)
the peel il sell is oging to be £65 including postage and P&P
furthermore to this with the delivery i can asure it will be to you within a week which is alot better and alot more efficient than other companies which it takes up to a month

personally i think that it is, it really depends on your situation and the pricing plans in your county. for me this worked out alot cheaper and allowed me to have all teh functions that the modern phones have 2day

would the peel work out cheaper for you? do you liek the ipod interface? do you have a sim?

I don't know if your country has 'Prepaid' connection services or not. If yes, can you confirm if the services like to check balance and all can be checked with Peel 520?
I went to TMOBILE but for some reason if I text or call with the app it does not work. Do you know what type of service I need from tmobile in order use these functions?

try updating your peel version. i no that 1.5.9 came out today this might fix it... but if you have updated to this then it may be that this software is causing the problem

Yeah all my languages are set to English and I did reinstall even tried upgrading to iOS 4.3.3 still doing it to me.. But im guessing it has to done with numbers that carriers do not use a sim card to where they have a different code.. I've looked around and it's a big bug in the us and other countries... If u have a google voice acount or can get one text urself with it and u can see what im talking about I know u can't do anything about it but just venting a lil :P
fortunately i havnt. the first thing to do is check the settings on your ipod as the peel runs of the language set from your ipod. delete any languages that arnt yours
if this still doesnt work then you are going to have to reinstall the app itself
i have heard that is is a current bug so try to install to the latest yosion update
i really like everything ive seen about the peel 520, but the service provider i would get it for doesn't use sim cards, is there still a way to set it up?? the service provider is alaska communications and they use a CDMA network if it helps
unfortunately the Peel 520 only works with a Sim card
if you can contact Alaska communications and ask them if you could get a sim card because i know that some companies wil actually provide you with one on request.
if they cant give you a sim card unfortunately there isnt a way for you to use the peel =(
@dillbert42rb unfortunately CDMA is not 3G. 3G that the iphones, etc use is GSM or HSPA+. i live in an area that was only CDMA til a while back and now its 3G HSPA (Bell Canada). CDMA is on a totally different page than GSM or HSPA. sorry bud.
it depends on the order that you have. if you done the free delivery option from peel520 and it just got their i.e it arrived in guangzho today tehn it will be up to a week.
what you can do is use the tracking number for the postal company in ur country. i.e put the tracking number in the "post office" website which is the UK delivery company. they will have details as to where abouts it is in the UK
hey napster, I read on the Yosion sight that some people were still experiencing old issues of recieving sms messages in chinese, i just wondered if you have had this problem?
what version of the yosion app do you have? i have 1.5.4 and when someone calls me, and when the display is off (what it is mostly) i just see the Yosion start picture with the numpad and the green call button whit the "YS", but i don't see who's calling me and the ringtone isn't working for some reason... only when the display is turned on, it works, but still i can only see after 10 seconds, who's calling me...
Hi yes this happened to me when i was on 1.5.4 if you update to either 1.5.5 or 1.5.6(latest version) it sorts this out. Alo having ios firmware 4.3.3 allows the yosion to run alot smoother however you have to sacrifice gprs for this as gprs doesn work on 4.3.3 (its a bug that should be fixed soon.

hi yes, if you want to mute teh ringtones then go to settings in the yosion app and turn "ring" off. this should solve the problem in terms of it not ringing when you get a call/text. to make it vibrate simply switch on "vibration"
in terms of when you send a text it makes one beeping noise and i still havnt figured out how to stop this, this may be the way theyv made the software but i have contacted yosion.

@0napster0 I found something which is called Applications\YsSMS.app\Sentmessage.aiff I don;t have an peel yet so can you look? (I've looked into the install debian ;) just download it with cyder2 and unzip it with 7zip for windows machines ;) I hope this is the sound :)
@0napster0 I also found it with ifile follow this pad : var/stash/applications/YsSMS/Sentmessage.aiff but I think it isn't the right file unless your cams mic recorded it very bad :/
@0napster0 And have you found something? I took a look also on it but I can't find anything in the .plists and folders so we have to decompile it i think :/ and the sound itself is saved on the peel i guess but it will be activated trough the code i think :)

i recommend that everyone having problem with bugs contacts them on this email address as the more people that do the more they are made aware of it and the quicker they fix it
in terms of 1.5.6 (todays update) i cannot see any major difference which suggests taht it might be some bugs etc that might of been fixed. even the bugs are un noticeable to me as the GPRS still doesnt work on ios 4.3.3 so im guessing its very minor fixes

hi sorry i missed this out =( it is just like iphone notification in terms of it makes a noise and vibrates and it will light up and say "text message recieved" currently it does not say who has messaged you but this is next on the list for yosion so that it does say who has sent you the message

i also know that this was a major concern for legal authorities because of the nature of the product so the peel 520 had to go through tests in which it had to pass for it to be sold, if it didnt pass then they wouldnt be able to sell it so this suggests it has passed

my problem is on the peel when i click the "click to update" button i get an error that says

the cost of an ipod touch 4th gen is a little more then 200 and the peel is 90-100 which adds to about 300

they have excellent service and different options for delivery
in terms of price for the peel520 there the same price everywhere
also if u do order make sure you order the peel520 II if you have a touch 4g

I don't know if your country has 'Prepaid' connection services or not. If yes, can you confirm if the services like to check balance and all can be checked with Peel 520?

i have prepaid connection on mine, and o2 does let you come up with messages telling you how much balance you have.
i think it all depends on the service provider though

I went to TMOBILE but for some reason if I text or call with the app it does not work. Do you know what type of service I need from tmobile in order use these functions?

hi its not the fact that its with tmobile as i tried my peel with a tmob sim..
try updating your peel version. i no that 1.5.9 came out today this might fix it... but if you have updated to this then it may be that this software is causing the problem

Ok I tried the Square credit card swiping device that hooks into the headphone input and it does not work with the Peel520 any ideas of who I can let know so that they maybe will fix this in the next update?

Yeah all my languages are set to English and I did reinstall even tried upgrading to iOS 4.3.3 still doing it to me.. But im guessing it has to done with numbers that carriers do not use a sim card to where they have a different code.. I've looked around and it's a big bug in the us and other countries... If u have a google voice acount or can get one text urself with it and u can see what im talking about I know u can't do anything about it but just venting a lil :P

fortunately i havnt. the first thing to do is check the settings on your ipod as the peel runs of the language set from your ipod. delete any languages that arnt yours
if this still doesnt work then you are going to have to reinstall the app itself
i have heard that is is a current bug so try to install to the latest yosion update

i really like everything ive seen about the peel 520, but the service provider i would get it for doesn't use sim cards, is there still a way to set it up?? the service provider is alaska communications and they use a CDMA network if it helps

unfortunately the Peel 520 only works with a Sim card
if you can contact Alaska communications and ask them if you could get a sim card because i know that some companies wil actually provide you with one on request.
if they cant give you a sim card unfortunately there isnt a way for you to use the peel =(

@dillbert42rb unfortunately CDMA is not 3G. 3G that the iphones, etc use is GSM or HSPA+. i live in an area that was only CDMA til a while back and now its 3G HSPA (Bell Canada). CDMA is on a totally different page than GSM or HSPA. sorry bud.

it depends on the order that you have. if you done the free delivery option from peel520 and it just got their i.e it arrived in guangzho today tehn it will be up to a week.
what you can do is use the tracking number for the postal company in ur country. i.e put the tracking number in the "post office" website which is the UK delivery company. they will have details as to where abouts it is in the UK
EMS only do tracking in china you see

i dont have this issue. it may be that you havnt got the ipod plugged in properly. it may also be the yosion app version you have as this was a bug

what version of the yosion app do you have? i have 1.5.4 and when someone calls me, and when the display is off (what it is mostly) i just see the Yosion start picture with the numpad and the green call button whit the "YS", but i don't see who's calling me and the ringtone isn't working for some reason... only when the display is turned on, it works, but still i can only see after 10 seconds, who's calling me...

Hi yes this happened to me when i was on 1.5.4 if you update to either 1.5.5 or 1.5.6(latest version) it sorts this out. Alo having ios firmware 4.3.3 allows the yosion to run alot smoother however you have to sacrifice gprs for this as gprs doesn work on 4.3.3 (its a bug that should be fixed soon.

hi yes, if you want to mute teh ringtones then go to settings in the yosion app and turn "ring" off. this should solve the problem in terms of it not ringing when you get a call/text. to make it vibrate simply switch on "vibration"
in terms of when you send a text it makes one beeping noise and i still havnt figured out how to stop this, this may be the way theyv made the software but i have contacted yosion.

lol i know what you mean! i was in school today and it beeped and everyone looked, although im in 6th form so teachers don't really mind
hopefully they will fix this along with the other audio problem of when you have your headphones in you cannot adjusst the volume.
when they sort this out il let you know :)
up till then you can use the old school method of coughing when it beeps ahaha :) good luck and dont get caught :)

@0napster0 I found something which is called Applications\YsSMS.app\Sentmessage.aiff I don;t have an peel yet so can you look? (I've looked into the install debian ;) just download it with cyder2 and unzip it with 7zip for windows machines ;) I hope this is the sound :)

hwo did you get to that... because the computer may be able to display this but according to ifile there is no such file

@0napster0 And have you found something? I took a look also on it but I can't find anything in the .plists and folders so we have to decompile it i think :/ and the sound itself is saved on the peel i guess but it will be activated trough the code i think :)

@0napster0 hmm I'm on a windows machine so I can't decompile it i think? or do you know an way? bacause i thought developing (and so decompiling) is only available for mac? but if you know an way or if i can help you anyway please say it than ;) and i don't think that one beep is essential for the peel :/ maybe there is need some modding ;)

hey well yesterday 1.5.5 was released which had:
Save edit out the content of SMS.
Busy Call no record
Contacts +86 No caller ID.
Import Contacts prompted to confirm.
Icon in the status bar message center display
in terms of 1.5.6 (todays update) i cannot see any major difference which suggests taht it might be some bugs etc that might of been fixed. even the bugs are un noticeable to me as the GPRS still doesnt work on ios 4.3.3 so im guessing its very minor fixes

hi sorry i missed this out =( it is just like iphone notification in terms of it makes a noise and vibrates and it will light up and say "text message recieved" currently it does not say who has messaged you but this is next on the list for yosion so that it does say who has sent you the message

the wait is definately worth it. the peel 520 is a perfect product.
iv downloaded 1.5.6 but there doesnt seem to be any major changes so what im guessing is that it fixes some of the bugs that the current software has.
once i found out exactly what it has fixed il post it up =)

hi from what iv read there is virtually no harmful radiation to the human body (what i was told from peel520.net and on yosion site)
i also know that this was a major concern for legal authorities because of the nature of the product so the peel 520 had to go through tests in which it had to pass for it to be sold, if it didnt pass then they wouldnt be able to sell it so this suggests it has passed
is it numbers that you would like? as i could provide these after looking it up
