  • I remember this from the movie 16 Candles....can't believe it was Wham. And George Michael rappin'?......Wow!

  • hahaha, AWESOME !

  • I like the fact that the other guy from Wham!(Andrew Ridgley) never really sang.

  • George actually tackles the rap in the early style that was made popular by early rap star Curtis Blow. It's all relative to the times. A much better attempt than Blondie's song, which I always thought was meant to poke fun at the early art form. This song by Wham actually did it some justice.

  • Ahhh, yes...the early '80s, when rap was an obscure urban musical oddity appropriated by white pop-music acts (i.e. "Rapture" by Blondie) before anyone knew what the hell it was, and thus didn't know well enough to fall down in a spastic laughing fit watching a flamboyant, mincing Brit trying to do so. Kinda like watching old footage of Pat Boone covering "Tutti Frutti" by Little Richard.

  • @usergreg1498 Good analogy.

  • If you, the viewer, know anything about the world, you'd catch on to the message in this video right from the get go. :3 I did.

  • 今、見ても最高にカッコいい!

  • sorry 2:00

  • 2:01

  • He's gay, his best mate isn't.

And he's not happy about that.

And his bud's new wife suspicions it.

I googled Andrew Ridgley. He's definitely normal and living a happy life. Andrew had the last laugh (although they're still friends, apparently).

I just watched George's "Fastlove" (1996). It was Lady Ga-ga grotesque. In that one George is telling us he's a tormented, out-of-control sexual obsessive and rubbing our noses in it.

What a guy. Makes you cry...

  • @pinz2022 I love it! Gay people aren't "normal"? Ugh. Trolls.

  • @pinz2022 Fuck you, pinz.

  • this was years before my time (i was born in 1995) and i love it

  • Age 49 and NOT GAY!!

This is one of those tunes that would have had a big tough guy like me laughed out of high school if not worse! At the time it was all hard rock and progressive rock.

I have this on EP so I wonder where I went wrong in life? Just kidding, it is a good tune that holds up and I still enjoy it despite all the lifestyle classifications that come along with it!

  • IN THE MOVIE, SWEET SIXTEEN...., AND NO AUTO-TUNE, CAN YOU IMAGINE... OLD SCHOOL RULES .....PERFORMERS ACTUALLY HAD TO HAVE SOME TALENT.....

  • Long Live the 80's and George Michael..........Damn George Look at those Moves<3 lol

  • I'm not even born and I like this

  • palm desert mall 84

  • WIth this song, the career of Wham! and George Michael began...

There was one festival in 1981 in which a certain band didn't appear, so Wham! replaced them, so that's how it all began.

  • 0:47 - 0:53 Too cute.

  • is he trying seduce andrew??

  • 2 or 20? lol two years old would be cute.

  • GOOD LORD, this has got to be one of THE most 80ish songs of the 80's! Uaed to love this song whenever it played one HBOs Video Jukebox.

  • I remember seeing this video on Home Box back in the early 80's too. I first saw this video on USA Network's Radio 1990 and I flipped out when Anthony Michael Hall drove a Rolls-Royce in Sixteen Candles with this song blazing.Young Guns still has the passion and drama that it had 29 years ago.

  • This song will foever remind me of grad night in junior high school, before graduating to the 1oth grade. 'Remember having this song on my mind as we boarded the bus to go have fun that night. Good to have a great song tied to a great time in ones past.

  • I remember when I saw them on American Bandstand around 1983 and I looked at George and I felt that he was going to leave the "others" behind and boy was I right. So how's he doing, we in North America don't hear much about him since his release from Prison.

  • i love it!!!

  • maravilloso..!!!!!

  • i'm a fuckin young gun!

  • Can someone help me with the artist/group and title of a song? The song start with "We gotta dance, just me and you, it´s so romantic, let´s see what we can do" and a little later in the song: "The man i just found expected to be alone"

  • Hey, this was my song...

  • i love this stuff!

  • This song is the definition of retro, it has the 80's written all over it!

  • The 80's would be nothing wthout UK pop.. & George.

  • George Michael is the Only SEXY English Men tht can rock a leather Jacket,Sing Great, and have slamming hairstyles

  • @Catphycisist lml...well at least im close... :) And if you can try to sing does that mean you can? :-p

  • @Butterfliesfatu324 haha well as far as i'm concerned, yes.. yes i can! Quite well actually, but hey thats my opinion :)

  • @Catphycisist lml..who really knows.... i'd hopee so tho :)

  • GOD I LOVE THE 80'S,THEY WERE THE BEST

  • Omg its even noticable tht he says hey sucker :/

  • And George Michael turned out to be gay. Who knew?? "See me, single and free. No tears, no fears. What I want to be. Tell me now that you're happy turning your back on me.."

  • @drumbunny

I was eighteen and this was the first Wham! number I'd ever seen/heard and I knew right off what was going on. George was telling us he was gay from the start. It couldn't have been more obvious what the song was really about.

  • And George Michael turned out to be gay. Who knew?? "See me, single and free. No tears, no fears. What I want to be."

  • It's been so long, I forgot that the "M" in MTV meant MUSIC!!!!!!! DAMN IT!!!!!

  • Andrew Ridgely was my freakin idol lmao. Love this

  • I'm in 7th grade and I♥ This Song(:

  • Very good!! New songs don't measure up to 80's.

  • Ahhh the Eighties...a time like no other!

  • Well, at least this is is better than Bad Boys. Their later work still craps all over this stuff though.

  • " HEY SUCKER" WHAT THE HELL'S GOT INTO YOU?" classic hit back then!

  • Hydraulix 17 :D

  • George Michael is HOT

  • this reminds me of sixteen candles.

  • I don't know why I thought of this song all of the sudden, but I had to hear it! Love this song!

  • since i turned 12 on June 15 i rather say: I'm 12 and i love the 80s

  • wow am i the only one who sees the homosexual innuendos in this???

  • @xxblodlustxx no. Its pretty funny listening to it now that we all know. Wow did he have a great voice though although he doesn't use it on this album to its best.

  • George was so young and hot :P

  • As an old timer, I prefer the music of the late 50s-early 70s. But, yes, the 80s did produce good music as well. To me, however, music went downhill after that. Just my opinion, not necessarily a fact.

Excellent video, by the way. High energy.

  • Why did I have to be born in 1990 :( I would have been jamming in the 80's

  • @alltherave90 hey at lease you had 90s music. i was born in 98'. i missed out on everything. i wish i i was born in 1970 so i could had heard all the good music. :( :(

  • Excellent! Damn, wish I was born in the early 80's >.<

  • im only 11 and i love the 80s!

  • @MonaeJune well at least there is one kid of this generation that has a good taste in music! Long live the 80's!

  • Comment removed

  • @MichaelJacksonLova14 thanks. all kids should listen to older music, then maybe they will understand why i like older music and stop teasing me for who i am.

  • @MonaeJune You are so welcome! Hang in there, those kids who tease you have no respect for real music. You are one of the special few who have seen the light and know what real music is all about hahaha :)

  • 1988 GOOD

  • Love 80's music

    And I'm 14!

  • This is some good shit. You don't see the kind of variety in pop music now that you saw in the 80's. And for MegaRapture, check your dictionary. Noughties isn't even a word. Did you mean Nineties? D'oh!

  • @mischamowse you should take your own advice and check the dictionary for"D'oh".

  • OMG! This still rocks! The 80's rule!

  • este video es espectacular fino, fino, fino.

  • When they decided the go full-time pop instead of pop-grundge-ish, they became instant billionaires.

  • george michel you read , is the video more stupid ,

  • this was the song

  • Come on people......how did we NOT know George Michael was gay??? I mean look at this video?!?!?!?

  • george michael makes me giggle :)

    -raghkstar

  • BRING THE 80'S ON! from a 18 years old boy!

  • hah damn, georgie and rapping oh boy

  • Long Duck Dong in the tree lol

  • I was a fan then and always heard it was Its 'abortion pays', no matter what is flashed on the screen, you can hear the R....no R in caution. And lyric sites are only fans transcriptions not official.

  • "well sugar he doesn't mean the things he sez!" HAHA

  • are the lyrics, "abortion pays" or "caution pays?" i like to think its abortion pays, nothing wrong with population control..

  • It is "caution pays"

  • I'd love to burst your bubble. The lyric is "caution pays". Thats what google's for, hon.

  • Awesome song. First heard this on "Sixteen Candles". Have to love the 80s, there is no way they could make a video or song like this today.

  • Deze muziek zuigt.

  • I listen to Wham! all the time.

  • Journey, The Police, U2, Yes, Rush, Heart, all on the radio in the 80's, yet people loved George Micheal and Wham !!! Then Boy George, The Thomson Twins. Aughhhhhhhhh !!!!!

  • Wham! Boy George, The Thomson Twins all appealed to the kids who were buying the 7" singles.

The other groups are just as good but appeal more to adults who were buying albums.

  • and back then nobody suspected he was gay. WTF? He was a lit up billboard with a soundtrack for gay.

  • It was the 80's mate - we were all incredibly camp

  • @TheIkkap back then people were BLIND....lol.

  • ***WHAM!FOREVER***

  • old school jam....

  • When I listened to that song the first time on the radio (there haven't been video channels and all that stuff) I was absolutely thrilled - I thought this would have been black singers ... with «Bad Boys» still my favourite song of Wham!

  • Dude, I forgot how sexy Andrew was. I mean, damn. Dead. Fuckin'. Sexy.

  • I agree, 100%

  • Grew up digging Wham! and still loving it!! Sure inspired here by Chic, that tight and fresh pop sound! For happy dancing and fun posing, a good time and some stylish vibes, for example! Remember as a lil kid asking my mother, what rap meant, because of the song Wham Rap etc! Love Pepsi plus Shirlie!

  • 'If you're happy with a nappy then you're in for fun' is my absolutely favourite Wham lyric..... i was there in1983 bopping with the best of them.... thanks for posting this, haven't seen stuff like this for 25 years! takes me back, tear in my eye!

  • Typical eighties!! the hair, clothes and music.George mickael was cute at that time.cuter than today

  • @fisteberg it was 30 years ago, it's normal to not be as handsome as in youth

  • WHAM RULES!!

  • This is my time. The hair, the clothes, the music. first Wham ever heard and danced to in "discos". Wish I was young again.

  • top!!!

  • This song is the Bomb! "What the hell's gotten into you??" Best song to start off a career....

  • Geez, I totally forgot about Wham rapping. It's been years.

    VERY GOOD SONG ;D

  • Wham are the coolest mo'fo's ever to walk this earth !

  • Ha, man I haven't seen this video in years. These guys & the 80s frickin' own.

  • so 80's.

    so cool.

i was only a baby in the late 80's.

but hey, atleast i lived in that decade !

  • 02:53 he looks very enthusiastic.. LOL.

  • "Hey sucker!"

    ahhhhhahaaaa! The 80's OWN.

  • AWESOME, I saw Wham! live at Poplar Creek when I was 16, they rocked it, and it is the most memorable concert I have ever been too.
