  • How do you turn a great song into an episode of Batman? See video.

  • I think John Kay is the perfect lead singer. He looks, sounds, acts and dresses like a real rock and roller . I've been listening to Steppenwolf for over forty years !! Never disappointed !! The new Steppenwolf played right up the street from where I live and I did not know about until the show was over. My wife and kids went and they said the band they seen was really good. I asked who was it and they said I think the leader called himself John Kay .I ain't never gonna be the same !!

  • well coregraphed, how do they all freeze at the same time and then start back again?Good old hippie days!

  • Yeah...this must look really weird to a generation who doesn't ever DANCE!! It's called "being loose as a goose" . Try it sometime. It feeeeels good!

  • To the viewers: Please don't ask question aimed at the poster of this video, SpindleRecords, as Marc Bird, founder and poster, Passed away Jan 6, 2009. I am currently downloading the video's just in case something happens to this channel. His computer with almost everything on it crashed a week after I hooked it back up. Guess not using it for a year while I sold our house and looked for a new one wasn't good for it. I can't get on his page cuz IDK his password. Gonna put on mine.

  • This is the Playboy show.

  • Pure acid rock.

  • At 1:53 Jessie Jackson does the Baltimore Jig.

  • You forgot to mention Jerry Edmonton on drums who was an original member. He died in a car crash years ago.

  • прикольно

  • That keyboard players hair is fucking amazing : 0

  • I love this! I love how everyone is having such a good time in this video:)

  • Is Jessie getting down to White music?

  • This seems to be a clip from one of those ridiculous TV rock shows of the 60s and 70s. In all the snarky comments no one seems to be noticing that this is a great cut from a great band. Enough with the Jesse Jackson shit.

  • The black guy in the dark red and gold African style shirt looks like Jessie Jackson?

  • Organic head bangin! Smoothe!

  • Awesome, one of Canada's best bands even if radio unfortunately concentrates on only two of their songs. (Of course Guess Who will also be up there in the top 10.)

  • let it hang out like a boss

  • Where the fuck is a Delorean Dealer ship? I need to Buy DMC-12 with time machine Package!

  • if only it had happened back in 1988/89 then it wouldnt have bypassed me

    completely!

  • SUCK ME SUCK ME SUCK ME SUE! IT WAS A SEXUAL REVOLUTION KIDS! DA!

  • White guy @ 2:02 knows he's gonna score, so he's doin his Victory Danse ahead of the victory

  • well he surely got me aroused =) i guess i gotta drink a bottle of turpentine and in the morning illl be feeling fine

  • P.S. The dude at 2:02.. LOL at him.. BUT I bet ya he'd kill it at Zumba!! LOL

  • O melhor som com tanto equipamento ruim. O rock só depende dos roqueiros. Mas é só para os bons.

  • Presently, they're all dancing with their walkers, canes and glugging Viagra instead of weed. I hope the white dude didn't let his afro keep growing. He'd look like a giant q tip by now. They were tight sounding in their day, though.

  • 2:01 WTF LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • These guys are cool !

  • isnt this from playboy after dark?

  • wonder what that asian chick looks like now

  • @Billykid514 What you will look like in 43 years time.

  • @Billykid514 You'll be a corpse by then.

  • That's one HUGE fuckin fro!

  • @chris101ward That's Goldy McJohn

  • was that a wig on the organ player?

  • @wp4866 No, that was his real hair. We went all out back in the day.

  • @wp4866 I hope so....

  • Steppenwolf is one of my favorite rock bands of all time. It is hard for me to pick out a favorite song by them because I have so many. Sookie Sookie is deffinately one. Rushton Moreve on the bass is laying it down. funky. Yes! youngsters this how we old timers rocked hard in the 60's and some of us still do. You're never to old to Rock n Roll...

  • Goldy McJohn on keys. Likely Micheal Monarch on guitar. Dennis Edmonton, aka Mars Bonfire, didn't actually play with them regularly.

  • Grab the audio from this clip at searchripgrab doht cohm.

  • This is from Hugh Hefner's weekly TV show 'Playboy After Dark'

  • is that marrs bonfire on key's

  • thats the biggest fro i think ive ever seen.

  • this never ceases to make me wet my pants!

    waaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!

  • John Kay's real name is Joachim Fritz Krauledat, and he's 66 years old now!

  • haha the guy at 1:54 is just rockin', so is the guy at 2:01

  • Best white boy 'fro since Don Brewer?

  • @LedWhisky69 LOL i wonder what that move was called...

  • @LedWhisky69 I know right?? LOL I was like 'eh it kinda sucked starting out.. But then something hits ya...And then it's a "Feel Good" kinda song and dance.. And you know most was feeling good back then anyhow... Thanks to some well , ya know 'shrooms.. ;-)

  • @LedWhisky69 i had a great laugh, thanks for sharing! xDD

  • @LedWhisky69 I Think They All..."Everybody Get Down!" for ihm!...Cover!..(Girl!)

  • @LedWhisky69 LMAO!!!

  • @LedWhisky69 Yeah, Jessie Jackson was a trip. I was a young teenager then. I remember the times and mood very very clearly. Through the rose colored glasses of 60's memories it looks really hip. But if I could take those glasses of I'm pretty sure it looks retarded as all hell, Wait 30 years and try and explain Lady Gaga to your grand kids ... it's gonna hurt.

  • I don't think that's Jesse Jackson. That's some guy who was on Laugh-In. I think his name was Byron Gilliam. He kind of did look likie Jesse Jackson, but was probably about a head taller.

  • Wow look at that eye makeup at 1:35

  • That fuckin dancin cracks my ass up.

  • look at Goldy's outfit. PINK baby PINK

  • looks like:"Playboy After Dark" hefner with his best looking girl,,BARBI BENTON,THE SOUND STINKS,,,,, THAT BLACK DANCER ,ONE OF THE BEST EVER ON TV!!

  • DELIRIOUS!!!!!

  • They were the best!!!

  • Saw them at the Fillmore in 1969 I was right in the first row and he threw flowers in my lap from a previous performance (Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger and the Trinity). It was great and a nice memory. Love this band.

  • Mars Bonfire, Goldie McJohn, John Kay,

    can't remember the others members.

Yeah that was the day! Kay usually would do a political monologue

    before each concert.

  • @JamKar1 Jerry Edmonton - drummer. Don't remember who the bass player is.

  • @robvig60 I am not sure...but I believe the bass player was Nick St Nicholas

  • Yeah the bass is loud-it's a 200 watt Sunn unit-I played the same one-now I suffer from tinnitus-but we made some cool music!

  • I hated this song when i was a kid. I heard it at an early age - about 5 and just didn't get it.
