I agree with ech1: being killed is NOT the worst (unless one is burned to death, I suppose) - loss of freedom for the animal - in laboratories, fur farms, factory farms. So, how does ech1 not get it: if we OUTLAW and shut those places down, HOW would animals exactly be suffering in them any more?
Fact: human meat-eaters hate freedom and therefore unpatriotic cowards. They have no concept of the meaning of the loss of freedom. They should be forced to live in a crate for their entire lives like factor-farmed animals do.
Fact: human-meat eaters do not care about the consequences of their actions.
Fact: human-meat eaters are anti-libertarian, thinking that the animals "owe" them their lives and testing on animals for their cosmetics and drugs. That's not the animals' responsibility.
Fact 1: Global warning is a prediction, not a fact.
Fact 2: Vegetarianism is an eating disorder, not a way of life
Fact 3: Cows ARE Vegetarians
Fact 4: Vegetarians output EXACTLY the same amount of methane as cows do, pound for pound. Carbon in = Carbon out.
Vegetarians suffer cognitive difficulties due to inadequate nutrition. I'm not surprised that veggies fall for this veggie global warming nonsense. Vegetables aren't food, Vegetables are what food EATS.
There is no need to stop eating meat- only meat from placental mammals need to be phased out. Marsupials produce no methane. If the world switched to producing kangaroo and wombat we'd (a) save a shitload of water per kg of meat made, (b) not produce any methane so do the climate a favour and , (c) be a damn sight healthier- roo is extrememly lean.
Vegetarinaism is a boring diversion- eat kangaroo to save the Earth!
Being killed is not the worst thing that can happen to an animal, not by a long way. Veganism is a sham 'solution' to animal killing anyway- billions of animals are killed to stop them eating crop plants- ask any farmer. Or aren't rats and mice cute enough to be worth saving?
What are you vegans going to do, make aboriginals and inuits and all the other millions of people who live in places you can't grow crops fly in soyaburgers and frozen peas? Get real! Meat is essential- eat kangaroo!
Well is YOUR solution any better? What are you going to do? Fly in some kangaroos to Alaska? Kangaroos are a treasure to Australia, you shouldn't try to eat them. And notice that I said IF in the earlier post. I know that not everyone is going to change their diets because of traditions and customs, but if Americans and Canadians and Australians and Chinese people all ate just a little bit less meat, it would make a huge difference. And meat is SO NOT essential.
I find if I eat to much meat (beef) in summer time the flies bother me and hang around my face, they must smell the fatty trace elements of the meat I consumed through my perperation.
If I don't eat meat for a week or 2 no bother from the dirty little creatures.
It would certainly reduce emissions dramatically, but I'd need to see some studies that show we'd reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% if all mankind went vege to believe that.
IF... all mankind goes vegetarian => Less rainforests are cut down for raising cattle => Remaining space can be used to grow grain for humans, instead of livestock => A healthier planet.
Bollocks- livestock are usually raised on land you could never grow crops on. The rainforest in brazil mostly gets slashed these days to make space for soy plantations, in indonesia its to grow palm oil. Vegetarianism does nothing to change that. Vegetarianism will do next to nothing to solve climate change or any other crisis.
You trying to tell us vegans don't eat soy any more?
I am happy for rich folk to go veggie/vegan/fruitarian, just don't patronise the rest of us with pious stories of how it saves animals or saves the climate. Both statements are just wishful thinking. You haven't explained yet how veganism will help all the poor people around the world who depend on meat from grazing animals because they live in places you can't grow crops? Will rich vegans pay for soyburger and tofu airlifts?
So how about impact of chicken and fish? I might be persuaded to give up beef but I love meat too much to go all veggy.

Killing animals is still bad, eating something else other than cow doesn't solve the problem of global warming.

No need any kind of study.
Just do the MATH.
Less consumptions of meat.
less emissions of Methane and others greenhouse gas.
