The person that introduced me to this HIM Album,he adored this song out of every other song on it.When I asked him why he simply responded: "I am a recovering Heroin addict..this song describes,in full the lonliness that comes with only caring about how u are going to get your next fix.Every person you loved disappears,Anything else you used to love disappears..there is only you and the drug left.So to me"killing lonliness" is what I do every time that I boot my drug."He died,Heroin overdose.

@sovietsoldier451 @mashfnch30 You are both wrong this song was written for a guy named Brandon Novak hes very popular because of his affiliation with Bam Margera and the Jackass movies. it was written about him because Bam Margera is very close friends to Him and Brandon told them his story about being famous at one point in time as a skater for the powell peralta team wikipedia it but lost it all due to a herion addiction in 2003 he went clean for 4 year but relapsed and is in prison today.

You know what sucks? This is really good music but back in the day when this was popular and mainstream here in the US, I didn't want to listen to it or be vaguely affiliated with it because ever fat-ass mall goth slut, greasy skater punk, and emo kid had that heartagram on their jacket, skateboard shoes, wallet, etc. Now, thankfully, HIM is largely forgotten by that crowd and I can enjoy good music without the social stigma.
