As much as Slayers was a great series in every aspect (Seriously, stop making this Naruto and Inuyasha [FINAL ACT] junk), I remember it best for its incomparably good songs. Give a Reason (NEXT) was the best song of the '90s, and nothing today compares.

Why put that now? Breeze > Almost every song of the 2000s.

I think Slayers derives many of its ideas from Norse mythology. The Ragna blade for example, is an allusion to Ragnarok, the "final destiny of the Gods." The Holy Tree, a reference to Yggdrasil, the World Tree in Viking mythology. Demons/monsters/freaks trying to bring chaos to the Gods' world is another example. The main difference is that, in Norse myth, the world is destined to end (and reborn) as a result of the final battle between the Gods and the "freaks".

I'm watching this again and now I look back when I first watched the Slayers series. The original series was the beginning of the story. It kinda has the anticipated feeling about what will come next. Slayers Next is THE funniest series, especially when Zel is the joke and the first appearance of Xellos. Slayers Try is the more serious of the series. When I heard the opening theme of Try, it has that feeling...

Lina and crew defeat him in his recreation of siragg. stuff happens, lina dies, lina kisses gourry, lina comes back, martina marries zangolus. oh yeah and neither lina nor gourry remember the kiss

Well... firstly there is The Slayers, Slayers NEXT, and then Slayers TRY. Everything else is short films or movies that typically star Lina and Naga. I'm not sure of anything else though.

There are virtually no discrepancies in the Slayers(all three seasons). The dub follows the sub word-for-word.
