pxelcss, the cost was changed to 2K DP with the 1.5 patch, also the cooldown was lowered and the time it stays out was extended from 5 mins to 20 mins
the big pet is lv50 and is a 4k DP pet (ultimate pet), the lvl44 one is the tank pet (looks like a small tree).
and yes, they only have auto attacks, to make the pet use a special ability (like taunt or a high dmg attack) the spiritmaster needs to cast spells, called commands.

@RandomDub basically as your char levels up, you can learn skills from skill books.
some books you can buy while others you have to farm.

Magma elemental looks good, but similar to the fire spirit, i think i prefer tempest because it looks pretty damn nice and is unique.

Not really. It's more of a PvE thing, and is very limited at that. Short duration, looooong cooldown.

This is correct. It's the level 50 summon for the Asmo spiritmasters. Lasts a limited amount of time.

Correct. The Eylo (sp) gets a summon called the Tempest.
