  • The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

    Merriam Webster definition of infringed

1: to encroach upon in a way that violates law or the rights of another.

    definition of encroach

1: to enter by gradual steps or by stealth into the possessions or rights of another

2: to advance beyond the usual or proper limits

Any and all laws pertaining to gun ownership are unconstitutional.

The Constitution grants the right to keep and bear arms to all US citizens.

  • In Iowa where I live, prior US military w/ documentation, shall be issued a permit, as this qualifies as evidence of firearms safety. Perhaps other states do or will have this clause also.

  • We need Constitutional Carry in my state too. I don't pay 300-350 for expensive safety classes, licenses, fingerprints and such. If you don't have $350, then you can't have self defense rights...

  • In my opinion this is a great way to get the 2nd Amendment message out. Personally I conceal carry versus open carry. Understand, I don't object to anyone who wants to open carry, however in some instances it (open carry) can create more of a adverse effect than an objective illustration of our 2nd amendment right. Adds like this is a good way to approach the issue and inform the public.

  • This fight over permits or constitutional carry. SOLUTION,,, Your training class will qualify as being able to use constitutional carry. That way, NO govt. permit is required. Just that you have a training certificate from a aproved list of classes or trainers. No renewal required. No government list of people who took the training.

  • @wissn2112 That's still not Constitutional carry though. The training would be the "permit"...if no training = no carry then by default it is a permit. True Constitutional carry is where I wouldn't need a permit, training requirements, or any other prerequisite to be able to carry a gun.

  • Constitutional Carry is the way the Founding Fathers intended. Look at all the deep down rights haters and little babies over here wanting to throw people that don't take their rediculously perfunctory training and "permission slips" in jail.

They hate freedom and no matter how much they howl and lie they're no different than the vile liberals that want to take all gun rights.

The founding fathers would of flung them off the their porches in disgust. "Permission papers." Commies at heart.

  • @Premier112 I think its really about ignorance & fear. People are ignorant of rights, they don't know what freedom is (because they've gotten use to a nanny state over the course of their life) they are afraid of freedom. They don't realize freedom works because, rarely does freedom get the opportunity anymore. Some don't trust freedom because they don't trust their fellow man. Sadly, what they don't realize is government is RUN by their fellow man. Who wields the unchecked power of government

  • Also, some people, even those who embrace the right to carry need the security blanket of their government permission slip. They have to have something tangible they can hold in their hand and the government permission slip they can show to the police to say "see, I'm legal". We need to reach these people also and demonstrate to them that you don' t need a piece of paper from the government, nor need to pay a tax to exercise a human right.

  • @WisconsinCarry - Right on! The police are being used to intimidate. By approaching a citizen and asking for a "permit", they are in effect saying that they have a greater right that us to either open carry or conceal carry. They KNOW the law, but act ignorantly because they are following orders to intimidate.

  • Don't get me wrong, I am all for right to carry. I just don't like the points in this video that are being used to promote it. OMG they are in my house! There is not a state out there that does not let you own a gun for home defense, maybe you should have bought a gun instead of assuming the police would be there to protect you! Training requirements? I think you should be required to know WTF you are doing with a gun before you are allowed to carry one.

  • Don't kid yourself. the "government mandated training courses" required in other states are symbolism over substance. No government mandated course makes you a qualified gun owner. Its a meaningless requirement that states put in place to pacify liberals. Just because people don't have the government mandated training does not mean they don' t have training. just because someone does have training doesn' t make them responsible. Look at drivers ed? People pass that and can't drive for shit.

  • @WisconsinCarry So you mean to tell me putting a 16 year old kid behind the wheel with no training they wuld be just as good of a driver? I am not worried about the majority of gun owners, because we know how to safely operate our own firearms. What I am worried about is some random jackass with little to no experience with a firearms deciding they will start carrying one just because they can. Much like I would worry if we put 16 year olds behind the wheel with no training.

  • @StaticPulse83 I got my florida ccw permit with just my hunters safety certificate which I got in 7th Grade. That's symbolism over substance. Yet 700,000 FL permit holders with paltry training. "no problems". Several other states require NO training. MILLIONS of permit holders. NO problems. Arizona, Vermont, Alaska, require no training. NO problems. You can theorize scenarios of hypothetical negative outcomes but reality doesn't bear it out.

  • @WisconsinCarry Also, right to carry is not right to use lethal force. People need to know when that is a valid option. So yes, some basic training should be required.

  • @StaticPulse83 You know, I bet the kid that would drive without "training" would be just as good. They are exposed to it by example for years, as would be the case for most gun owners. They would still need to know the laws, as do gun owners. The people that would never think of doing it without training... well, by definition, wouldn't. Besides even a "random jackass" would show up as statistical noise. Even NY doesn't require training. And they think guns shoot by themselves.

  • I support this and wanted to add my 1 cent! I live in GA and we need this in GA also! Way to go Wisconsin!

  • Won't happen in California any time soon =(

  • Step 1: Vote Libertarian

  • The first part shouldn't be making it seem like someone is breaking into their home and need to defend themselves they can already have guns in the home.

  • Makes sense to me. Your opposition has no interest in upholding the constitution, instead they seem interested in maintaining a complex theater where people are made to FEEL safer.

  • WI residents need to call their legislators and representatives for this to pass!
