She's a great interpreter of song. I think she was very passionate and I think besides Serge's original she does the best interpretation which he agrees. I think she is very professional and gracious in her interviews. And a great stage presence. I don't think she strains at all when she sings. As for crossing over, she didn't promote her first English album in the US, but it was still a multi-million seller. She just has a less radio-friendly style. I'm not a fan of her dance stuff though.

Lara has FAR better transitions than Celine. Lara's voice is entirely connected, every note is a part of her integral range. Celine cannot even hit the note in All by myself lowering TWO steps. And her voice is already damaged, she has to lip TAKING CHANCES LMAO.
Lara and Mariah are both great singers, this video of Lara is almost 15 years old, the diference is that Mariah (as much as I love her) is singing with a lower voice every day and Lara has actually get some much better, so if they both agree to sing this song again, Lara would do a great job and Mariah would probably relay on her back-up singers
Mariah is my favourite singer of all time but Lara can outsing her any day. Watch "Je suis malade" or "Tout" and it's obvious. She can definately outsing Celine, but probably not Whitney. However, Lara writes her own music. And is more classically trained. She doesn't even do the same style as those other women.

In usually like Lara Fabian, but in this case I think this song is way out of her league. There is no feelings on this, shes like a machine, pure technique and just that. In the case of Carey, you can see the hapiness while singing this song even today. I really dont see that glorious feeling on her.

this wasn't that good: she mixed up some of the lyrics, her accent is too thick, and what the HELL was she doing at 2:59-3:00? She sounded like she was sobbing. Also, she ran out of breath a lot towards the end. She has the range but she is not melismatic enough to sing this song.

Just saw "Je Suis Malade"! No one can deny that Lara's EXTREMLY talented, but to become a successful artist or even one worth watching/hearing, u have to respect the music/art enough to know boundaries. "Too much" is VERY possible! Lara way OVERDOES it making it "off putting"! She's vulgar & deperate for attention as opposed to being desperate for love/affection (the way the song is expressing)! She longs to be worshipped as a singer, not so much HEARD as an artist no matter what she says!

She's a great interpreter of song. I think she was very passionate and I think besides Serge's original she does the best interpretation which he agrees. I think she is very professional and gracious in her interviews. And a great stage presence. I don't think she strains at all when she sings. As for crossing over, she didn't promote her first English album in the US, but it was still a multi-million seller. She just has a less radio-friendly style. I'm not a fan of her dance stuff though.

Lara has FAR better transitions than Celine. Lara's voice is entirely connected, every note is a part of her integral range. Celine cannot even hit the note in All by myself lowering TWO steps. And her voice is already damaged, she has to lip TAKING CHANCES LMAO.

Lara and Mariah are both great singers, this video of Lara is almost 15 years old, the diference is that Mariah (as much as I love her) is singing with a lower voice every day and Lara has actually get some much better, so if they both agree to sing this song again, Lara would do a great job and Mariah would probably relay on her back-up singers

Mariah is my favourite singer of all time but Lara can outsing her any day. Watch "Je suis malade" or "Tout" and it's obvious. She can definately outsing Celine, but probably not Whitney. However, Lara writes her own music. And is more classically trained. She doesn't even do the same style as those other women.

Fool. I've been obsessed with MC since she first came out. She was my first tape, first CD, and I bought her singles. I spent 30 bucks to help get Touch My Body to #1. As for Celine blowing her away, you obviously have no ears. Or taste. New artists always covered pop songs. Especially French artists around this time period. She isn't well known because she's a Francophone legend. And her albums are spectacular. Quit hating just cuz she made an hommage to MC's song.
