  • Still the best fuzz out today. Prefer this to the modern RM version too. Awesome

  • waste of time! bad video sound quality

  • @normalsigara how on earth is the sound quality bad...?! I've heard bad, and this is not bad.

  • @dannon2010 if you watch pgs videos ever, thats the sound!

  • i'm so fucking excited, i bought this thing of some dude for like 80 bucks!

  • umm yes if i have a roger mayer axis fuzz how many pedal boards will i need to hold it?

  • That's a big ass pedal

  • @secretagentYTer

    Fourty two.

  • you know what i love about this kind of pedal, it doesn't just sound good enough to be given a space on your pedal board, it gets a pedalboard to its self because you would probably get that and maybey a mini booster on a normal pedalboard,

  • its like a mega distortion pedal xD

  • the spaceship of fuzz

  • 300 quid aye caramba!

  • great, it sounds shit!...

  • exploding fuzz

  • own it. love it.........

  • Really wish this pedl had an LED so you knew when it was on or off

  • @MrNorbertweiner Well mate, trust me you don't need.

Specially when playing with single-coil pups, you are just gonna feel the "foooze" attacking you from behind (where the amp usually is) even when you have your palm over the strings muting them. Or even when the guitar's volume knob is down to 0

  • @MrNorbertweiner you could probably make one really easily connecting a small LED to the on/off button

  • Fuzz on GMD! I think I still prefer the Fuzzy Lady tho.

  • Omg this guy is actually frickin hilarious

  • I wish Andy at proguitar shop would do a real demo of this pedal instead of this massive douchebag

  • @taylorjeremy71 Andy from PGS is cool too in a more pronounced way, but you clearly do not yet understand the awesomeness that is Gearmanndude. trust me he is a legend, as is Phil X from frettedamericana. The three of them are the trifecta of youtube pedal/guitar/amp demos!!! :D

  • @aektzis91 Trifecta of Douchebags

  • @thecarlfia56 BLASPHEMY!!

  • Why doesn't he play some Hendrix licks through that thing. These units are famous for their ability to interact with the guitars volume knob, how could you do a demo for this pedal and not demonstrate this feature. This dude has a tonj of demos of great gear but he doesn't know how to use any of it. And I've yet to hear a descent lick outta this guy.

  • JACK BLACK I RECOGNISE YOU !!!!!!!!!

  • I can't stand this guy. His way of 'cool' talking is really irritating. Pedal sounds good though

  • Nice Boots!

  • how do you dump off alot of those pedals after you demo them?? thanks for all the great efforts you have provided us gearheads!! funny, i just typed gearwads for no appearant reason..but i fixed it....funny...

  • wild thing

  • Vox Wah-Wah, Roger Mayer Octavia (Fuzzface is ok too), Uni Vibe for Chorus (Dunlop), a couple of 100wtts Plaxis Marshall and a Stratocaster with Custom 69 or 54's pick ups (if possible a left handed upside down in case you're right handed) and you'll be able to achieve hendrix sound for sure, remember, "sound" is not "skill" or "creativity".

  • But can it fly?

  • one of the best fuzz pedals i've heard

  • how might one come across a pedal such as this? I WANT IT REALLY BAD!!!

  • RM Axis is far and away the best silicon fuzz on the market. Trust me, I've got a few :)

Try the oxfuzz if you want a great germanium fuzz, the thing rocks. The lad does a silicon too, both amazing.

  • hey... i got that same pick under the pedal...

  • germanndude is cool XD

  • wild thing.

  • MW FUZZYTONE, probably the cheapest yet most versatile boutique fuzz pedal in the U.K

GET THAT HENDRIX / MAYER / SRV TONE

    SEARCH FOR FUZZYTONE ON YOUTUBE

  • thank you jack!!

  • this the first fuzz that jimi used right????

  • Daiem!

  • Comment removed

  • you forget the curly cable....

  • Wild Thing...

  • I regret buyin a JH-1 Dunlop fuzzface after watching this video.. abit

  • @o1zeidler Why? seriously, I'm trying to choose b/w distortion and fuzz. I'm not really experienced at this because I'm used to using digital multi-effects. Can you help me?

  • @imman033190 Well basicly the fuzzfaces need batteries to use, and mine just went out, and i have been using it nonstop for the past 2 months so not bad.. other than that to answer your question, choosin from dist to fuzz can be really hard.. so if you want to play awesome Jimi solo's etc. etc. you should deffinately buy this or the dunlop, but if you go for some standart chord progression or whatever your playing, multi-effects and more distortion is the way you should go. Id try them out first

  • @o1zeidler Thanks man, I think I'd try the DS-1 or DS-2 first when I get some money. But I really love hearing those fuzz.

  • noooo humbuggiesss

  • YIEAH!!!!!!!!

  • You sound exactly like a young James Earl Jones, but i'm sure you get that a lot.

  • my axis fuzz sounds shittt with alkaline batteries, what kinda battery do you have in yours? zinc chloride? thats what i originally had in it...but was wondering what you had in yours?

    thanks,

    H

  • God!!! This sounds great. Smokin'!!!!!! :-)))))

  • I'm willing to spend some funds on one of these legendary fuzz pedals - Between the Spitfire, Classic, and Axis, I'm not entirely sure which one I should get...wanting some good rhythm tones for rock/blues and maybe a little lead work. Any suggestions?

  • this sounds like the fuzz used by Jack Black in Quantum of Solace

  • this guy sounds like Jack Black!!!!

  • @dgargett95

No Jack Black sounds like Gearmandude

  • This thing rocks! Dont throw it away dudeeeeee.

  • this is the best fuzz ive heard in a long time!!! ive watched this video so many times in the last 24 hours, i need to try one!

  • gearmanndude, have you played the 'classic' (germanium) version of this? which one rocks harder!? :)

  • what is the difference in the roger mayer classic fuzz

  • @Taygoo15 germanium, not silicon

  • what one is better this axis fuzz or a fuzz face in your guys opinions

  • don't come to watch this review just to say that. Muffs are a whole other world. This is spaceship axis fuzz territory!

  • lol u sound like jack black

  • Heey? are you using some other boots?

  • hahahaha two knobies - volume and fooooze! XD

this fuzz sounds amazing! firstly i adored the ehx double muff (still do) but now there are no doubts about it! i'm after that juicy, fat/warm fuzz sound of the '60s and '70s and i think i've found a winner!

  • I don't get it,... are Axis fuzz and Roger Mayer Octavia same effects... They are both spaceshipss,.

  • thats just his design lol...its like how most of mxr's pedals are the same case, but different colors

  • they're just shaped the same

  • Awesome sounds man! I really want one of these. My question is how big is the pedal? It looks pretty big...

  • Dear Gearmandude, I am in debt to you forever for all of the videos you post. Keep up the good work. Because of you I will now own 232 fuzz pedals kidding kind of haha!

  • BTW how do u make those feedback things around 3:00?

    :D

  • @Nimrod9458 turn up the amp, turn up the gain, have fun :)

  • just hold the notes wit the fuzz on a lot and you'll hear it

  • This pedal is excellent to play the early Hendrix songs (and the later too)

  • These babys are GREEEAT!! definitely much cleaner sounding than the dunlop ones.

I've got a 30th anniversary signed edition one of these and I definitely couldn't part with it!

    Mayer kills the Dunlop Fuzz!

  • + dont paint it! that orange is groovy

  • gettin this for xmas

  • awesome pedal. the price is a little too steep for me though

  • I just bought a friends used beat up axis fuzz. Imo it sounds almost identical to certain mid to late Hendrix stuff. It really kills any analogman or fulltone fuzz I have ever had. It is almost like these botuqie pedal guys now make fuzz's tamer, weaker and cleaner. Where when I plugged into the axis it had a incredible tight bottom cut though the mix and spitted like the real deal. The mayer stuff deserve's a lot props. Great demo keep it up I enjoy them GMD .

  • Ufo sighting!

  • What was that Hendrix song at the Begining? I like this pedal more that a fuzz face, it has a clearer sound. I realize it was based on one.

  • You Got Me Floatin' off Axis: Bold As Love

  • I have to say gmd. Even though the sound on youtube sucks and it is impossible to tell what fuzzs really sound like. Imo the axis fuzz is the best sounding fuzz I have heard you demo. It really sounds a lot similar to Jimi. I like it better than the analogman stuff abut.

  • Jack Black?

  • "Volume and FOOZE", nice one dude!

  • Bought mine from the man himself lives in surrey uk. Nice guy, has lots of hendrix stories. Built the originals for jimi back in the day.

  • Is this the reissue? Sounds great.

  • my favorite fuzz pedal, I wish I could get it for under 200 :(

  • @Ombrenuit i had the same problem but i found a solution... i'm gonna make one;)

  • @stratmaniac Have you found a decent schematic/layout?

  • It looks like a bodysurfing handboard.

check out Point Panic Handboard contest, and then put on your headphones!!!

  • can you buy these anymore? wat kinda price we talkin?

  • $250

  • Are these silicon or germ based?

  • hey how does this do with a wah pedal?

is there a lot of ocilation ( i spelled that wrong :P)

  • Sounds killer with a wah, some guy made demo'd it with his wah

    watch?v=NNkjcc75D9I

  • thanks man. sounds pretty awesome.

going on my wish list for sure

  • i feel like this is the best fuzz you've demoed amigo. en la noche los gatos es sus haciendas de fuzz grande!!!

  • absolutely love this fuzz. great demo as always man. ROCK ON

  • "Volume and fooze"!! LMAO

  • when you started playing that tele, i thought you were gonna play american woman lol.

  • y do u have such a small board i you have soo many pedals

  • He only ever uses a few at a time... there are some videos of his actual boards on here somewhere.

  • can u send me a link?

  • It's so simple that you can DIY. Great Fuzz.

  • What I like about it is its not over the top. Sounds very distortiony at the lower gain setting which I like, of coursewhen you turn that knob up itgets a little crazy ha.

  • Wild thing, you make my heart sing!

    Great demo, rock on GMD

  • Awesome!!! How about a comparison between the axis and the stone fuzz??

  • Comment removed

  • With tone and sustain like THAT, who needs a stinkin' LED? I'll put some Christmas lights in my pedalboard!

  • no LED :(

  • "no LED :("

it's not like you can't tell when it's not on though (:

  • Never mind, I totally remember now..."you got me floatin"

  • As a huge Hendrix fan, I'm extremely embarrassed to ask this, but could someone tell me the name of the song at the beginning? haha

  • GOT ME FLOATIN, off of Axis Bold as Love...superior gypsy rock riff!

    GMD

  • @popomczowzow its called "You Got Me Floating"

  • you make my heart sing!

  • that looks soo koool, and the sound is even better!

  • You remind me of Jack Black for some reason.

  • I get that sometimes....

    ROCK ON!

    GMD

  • @gearmanndude sometimes? or ALL THE TIME? every one of your videos that i've watched has more comments about you sounding like jack black than about the pedals. but i have to admit you kinda do lol. i love your pedal reviews you helped me choose between the crybaby classic and the vox v847A

  • @birdmankustomz666

youre not the only one :D

    nearly everyone thinks that

  • @birdmankustomz666 He sounds and has the same sense of humour as jack black.

  • Do you think you can do the roger mayer octavia?

  • Yep! On the prowl.....

    ROCK!

    GMD
