is this song about Pedophilia? i read some where that Thom Yorke said he wouldn't sing this song unless his voice was distorted on account of the horrid subject matter...
The pedophilia part is wrong. But the vocal part is correct. Yorke never officially disclosed the true meaning of the song he leaves it open for everyone to interpret.Yorke has an emotional interpretation but no true meaning.
The title insinuates the first born human clone Kid (A). It also refers to the first child(ren) born after the (A)pocolypse. Thus it remains as much a blur as his voice.
Yeah Kid A was really really great. Amnesiac was only half great. I've always been meaning to do a mix of Kid A and Amnesiac for real since they are sister albums. A mix of the two may possibly be too amazing to contain on one cd though.
Ok over emphasis over, but Radiohead is so lethal. I even think Pablo Honey kicks ass and no one likes that of course I also didn't think OK Computer was that great (Bends was better).
they made every album perfect in different ways, none to be judged against the other. each has their own individual message, feel, and sound. So to say one is better than the other is to compare apples to oranges.
Yeah fair enough I guess I'm just used to participating in The Bends vs. OK Computer "arguments" of which is better. I just jammed all of that into one post. Well great video here, thanks.
i remember thom yorke stating in a interview that one of aphex twin's tunes inspired a radiohead tune i can't remember which tunes they were but i remember he mentioned them and boards of canada, anything on warped records.
the song is so muffled on the album that it took me awhile to understand what he was saying but this song is so warped and beautiful that you don't really care...its near musical perfection... this song is like at least 8 Years old and it's still so far ahead of music today
Well I certainly hope so after all That is why I named it the 'VISUAL ART TRIBUTE VERSION!" Consider it a souped up gallery of the records visual art. Read the descriptions of what you're watching sometimes...it could boost your IQ...
I got a later copy of Kid A so I didn't get the booklet in the disk tray (damn) so thanks for showing this. Loved Kid A and its twin Amnesiac. So left of center but just as good as thier more traditional albums like The Bends.
This video fits perfectly the awesomeness of this masterpiece, Kid A... My three album picks from Radiohead, personnally, are Kid A, In Rainbows, and OK Computer. Yet The Bends ("Planet Telex", "Street Spirit (Fade out)"...), Amnesiac ("Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box", "Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors"...), and Hail to the Thief (Gosh "Go to Sleep. (Little Man being Erased.)" or "Scatterbrain. (As Dead as Leaves.)"... a.s.o., aww). I personnally don't think PH was THAT great. Well, Radiohead!
I've loved every radiohead album that's ever been released. I wish I could remember the first time I heard this song, every time I've listened to it since has been an epiphany. This video is no exception, bringing new meaning to "standing in the shadows at the end of my bed". It's the first radiohead song that I didn't want played live, that was just for me. Sitting on my own, just listening to the music, yet I love seeing how it affected others. Thank you.
I made a recent comment on I might be wrong so I'm not going to go off again, but Kid A was such a good album! I think Kid A ranks right up there with The Bends, I also think Pablo Honey was great, it was a lot more than just Creep.
Cheers! As goes with the fact that Kid A was an album that sprung from seeds of contempt that were sown with the overwhelming response to OK Computer. Instead of trying to face the pressure of making a follow up to an absolutely perfect album, They choose to rebel against expectation and ran in the opposite direction creating an abstract, unorthodox, and in a completely different way, perfect album. It's Irony at it's finest.
Best Video I've ever seen. I dont know how you did it like you did, but it goes with the song amazingly. Radiohead is my favorite band, and this is one of my favorite songs. The one of the most underrated songs of all time to me. Thanks for the video and true Radiohead fans, but the ones who only liked a few songs on Ok Computer, would know what half the stuff was or meant.
nice vid. fit the song well. especially liked towards the end with that trippy design. one thing i didn't like is that weird cartoon face from the beginning. its a little too energetic for this song in my opinion
Thank you for your awesome compliments& critique. The video is a tribute to the artwork made for that record. So just about every image including that weird cartoon face was created for the Kid A album. I'd be very surprised that you aren't familiar with the Kid A Bear if you're a Radiohead fan. Cheers. Thanks again!
What are you talking about? I just watched your Radiohead Art Film and I thought it was great! Plus you cant compare our videos because they are in 2 different categories. This is all CGI and yours is live film. Thank you for the compliment though!!!!!!
Honestly, the video is better than the music. I've always thought Radiohead was a little overrated. If your video doesn't make that any different, it certainly shows talent on your part.
Overrated? Thats so wrong, Radiohead is the most important band nowadays, not only because of its music innovations but the way they are fighting against the old abusive music industry by launching their new album by their own. Is that overrated?
I'm reminded of an interview I seen with a college professor(His name escapes me), but he said RADIOHEAD is a band that will be studied for decades to come for their brilliance. I absolutely agree. Incredible video!
Radiohead is my favorite band of all time. This video has changed my persepitive on Radiohead for the greater good. I already knew about a lot of it, there logo and some other stuff. But other stuff is really werid and only Radiohead would do it. Thats what makes them such a powerfull band. This is the best video in my eyes on YouTube right now.
This is absolutely awesome.

I can see Thom Yorke rockin out to the Girl/Boy EP. It's apparent they have an influence in Aphex durring the Kid/Amnesiac era.
