@KnuxMaster You see the bit before Megatron throws Optimus into the trees and kicks him in the face? When Grindor and Starscream take a whack at Prime with their saws and all, that was the extended bit. That few seconds, was cut out of the theatrical version. Why I'll never know, maybe since the movie was already two and a half hours long.

Two things.

One, on the Fallen's part, it took some real balls to stay in your little hideout cubby hole until you knew Optimus was dead and you longer felt threatened -_-

Two, In most movies as well as this one, the calvalry arrives AFTER the fact (in this case Optimus's death) when it's to late to help.
