Yes, Singapore is not perfect - I've seen homeless people in China, Japan and even here in the USA. I did indeed see some homeless people when I visited SG last year - one of my friends in SG thought I was mistaken. I also learned on my visit that the government 'looks the other way' when it comes to prostitution in SG. On the other hand, it is a safe place with low crime compared with other similar sized cities. What would the average person in SG think about a tax for social programs?

The way to help those grannies on a national-scale, one and for all, is to implement some form of welfare. This is only possible by kicking out pap, which believes in zero welfare. Democracy does not belong to the west or the east. It is universal basic human rights as enshrined in the United Nation's charter - the right to choose one's leader, the right to speak freely etc.
Democracy is essential to the survival of Sg and indeed any nation, because without democracy's check and balance, absolute power corrupts absolutely. We see that when we compare PAP as it first started out versus now.

it is not the job of opposition to get money from the citizens to provide scholarships to study. That's the job of the govt. The job of an opposition is to provide check and balance to the govt.
Oppositions parties are already very good. They are cast in bad lights by PAP controlling a 141th-ranked newspaper. In contrast, sleeping (figuratively and literally!) PAP members are propped up and cast in good light by you-know-who (ahem, you? Rem your comment on my LHL rally vid? :)

No, higher taxes are NOT required for old people to retire. That's because PAP has *already* collected more than enough disguised tax, in the form of highly-inflated HDB flat price, withheld CPF at low interest, monthly conservancy charges (enough for town councils to play stocks!) etc. That's why Singapore has 1 of the highest foreign reserves per capita. Only slaves pray to have filial children. We are not slaves! As citizens, we have the rights to pension. That's the purpose of paying tax/CPF, to begin with! Citizens elect a government to help manage/invest THEIR money with the understanding that THEIR money will be returned back to THEM in the form of pension! That's the case in all countries, even communist China!

Straits Times report showed clearly that 80 years old foreigners do NOT fly to Singapore to beg, and in this video, we are talking about elderly Singaporeans. In fact, Straits Times vindicated me - it's YOUNG foreigners who begged here. I know not why, for the 2nd time, you chose to (deliberately?) confuse the 2 (young/old) group. I am, growing old, therefore I know what I am saying without hesitation:) The people featured, do they look like they have a pension to live on? lets not use age 80, let use 65. Collecting cans at 65, they are not so lucky. If they have filial children, will they be in this predicament.

Government cannot shirk responsibility and push it to children. It's the government's responsiblity to collect tax/cpf AND return it back to citizens in the form of pension/adequate cpf! Yes, Singapore is not perfect - I've seen homeless people in China, Japan and even here in the USA. I did indeed see some homeless people when I visited SG last year - one of my friends in SG thought I was mistaken. I also learned on my visit that the government 'looks the other way' when it comes to prostitution in SG. On the other hand, it is a safe place with low crime compared with other similar sized cities. What would the average person in SG think about a tax for social programs?

But sg is unique - we are talking about influx of foreigners whether they are talented or not - prostitutes included! That's not ok. It steals away job because sg has no citizen-first employment law, and with zero-welfare, jobless singaporeans end up on the streets. btw, pap does that for cheap labour & to get loyal new voters to replace disgruntled citizens. political agenda.

my mom did not take anyone's job, she has been a stay at home mom for years. plus the fact that she has been living here for many years makes me beleive very strongly that she deserves her pink ic, and should have the right to look for a job now since we're all grown up. and yes, i am very familiar with the story of the marcos's.....
but i don't think a citizen-first law should be implemented. We might as well let them become singaporeans, seeing that people like you want to leave so badly.

A citizen-first law is standard in all countries except sg. Of course, jobs should go to qualified citizens first. That's the rights of being a citizen. That's what citizenship is abt.

There is no "over-exaggeration". Official stats show that 6 in 10 jobs go to foreigners. Are you saying that our Census Board is lying? It is one thing for a foreigner to come to Singapore, and then *quietly* take our jobs away. The way to help those grannies on a national-scale, one and for all, is to implement some form of welfare. This is only possible by kicking out pap, which believes in zero welfare. To kick out pap, the oppo. need to win at election and that's only possible if there is free press and real democracy. The wrong way to help the poor is for oppo to raise private funds to donate to them. That cannot solve the problem permanently; It must be the govt's job to take care of the poor!
So the correct way is to convince citizens to vote for a govt that will implement welfare. This means letting voters know that *some* welfare will not bankrupt our X00,000,000 reserves. Which means we need free press and fair election. So, I see SDP fighting for these, so as to help the poor, once & for all.

How do they do that? Very simple method- giving out GST & Bonus Divedends, yr after yr-after INCREASING our transport, taxes & electricity. I have a niggling suspicion they are using some of that for the so-called 'bonus' we received, as well as desperately trying to keep pumping up funds for the Fomula 1 circus...oops I mean race.

Oh honey, you do have a lot to learn lol. The original intent of free speech is to give everyone in society an EQUAL opportunity as well as to foster a creative enevirornment. No doubt it will definately be abused- as most law & policies are anyway- but in a SOCIOLOGICAL sense, people on the whole are a lot happier, less stessful, & less particular about things like status quo- & hey, what's wrong with that?

I am pleased to know that someone in the regime had become so "disturbed" after viewing, that an order had been made to *maliciously* flag my video as being unsuitable for minors' viewing! Thank you for giving this video so much credit!

The only 'positive' I have gotten out of Mr Lee Kuan Yew's ridiculous education system is that..
He engineered me to be bilingual since I stepped foot into the PAP-brand kindergarten. They say "start young", but propaganda at such a tender age. Then came PSLE, O Levels, A Levels, compulsory military conscription (NS).
Well, no worries about the mandarin songs! I'm a closet fan of Hokkien, Teresa Teng and maybe even hip hop dancing of post-65 PAP politicians!
