Jeez, what's with all the hate? When I first saw this show, I had NO CLUE that it was a remake, and I thought it was hilarious, Selma BLair and Molly Shannon play off one another very well, and this is a really good song, so you haters can all go suck it for all I care! LOL
I'm half american, but seriously they should stop re-making ALREADY HILARIOUS tvshows/movies, because they can't make them any funnier. fans of the original aren't going to buy it. Here in Australia, The American Version was taken off the air, since it was a complete embarresment to ALL australians.
@TheEllenMusic Who the frick says they're half-American? It's a citizenship genius not a heritage, race, or culture. You need to actually be IN the country to be American. And especially if you were born abroad and never even lived there that's really stupid to say.
I wonder why the americans always have to copy and reshoot everything. This is a good example, just like when they made an american Version of "The Sketch Show". Can't they simply broadcast the original...?
@RubicsCubeProduction I know right? but seriously they should stop re-making ALREADY HILARIOUS tvshows/movies, because they can't make them any funnier. fans of the original aren't going to buy it. The American version of the show is shit and unfunny. It has been dumbed down for Americans so they can get the humor. Typically in American style they throw money at the theme tune by using a well known song-whereas in the Australian version one of the actresses (Gina Riley) sings the theme.
@jayneil2001 and apparently get better looking actors since the original ones look like barf. And maybe the Australian version has no money to make an expensive theme song so they have to do something bootleg like using a cast member. XD
They are supposed to look like barf you MORON! That's what makes the series funny!
They lasted four successful series and stopped as they couldn't write anymore material. They have more than enough money but unlike what you Americans live life by, Having money does not make you better than anyone else.
Oh of course, lets do a 'Comedy series with good-looking people and base the whole show on their looks' funny........NOT!
Bless you people, you really will never learn will you
@jayneil2001 Watching ugly people is entertainment there? No wonder hot people like Yvonne Strahovski and Craig Horner come here for acting jobs. Seeing as the American show was about a pair of shallow, self absorbed, celebrity wanna be women who wish for the lifestyles of the rich and famous. . .you kind of have to make them hot or it makes no sense. Those people tend to be hot in America. It's what makes them empty and shallow. And no need to bless us. We're America. We're good, thanks. ^_^

no taste in music, obviously. "The Joker" is a great classic sung originally by Shirley Bassey. And Gina Riley does a ripper of a rendition.

@araluen82
Thank you. I totally agree!

@o0SPAC3MAN0o
The Australian version was written and performed by the cast.
As Americans are stupid and consumer driven, they had to dumb the humour down and use a commercial song for the theme tune.
