THANK YOU for posting this great article!! It definately made me rethink only taking 1 chewable Flintstone's when I am in the post-op stage of WLS. I'm going to order some right now! Amy
You are truly awesome!! Thanks so much for this info. Having read through it, I am confident now that my surgeon is not steering me wrong and he knows exactley what he is doing. His advice mirrors both yours and the articles. Keep up the good work, Dr. Wine-Oh!
It wont let me see it it says i need to buy the article for us$31.50... can you please send me the article through a message on youtube for lapband patients. Thank you!!
Thank you for the information. I have done research and at times it is confusing as to who is right. Not only will I print it out but I will make sure to bookmark it. Great job!!!
I have always believed that you are your own best advocate. It surprises me how many people don't educate themselves when they are going to have a major operation and life change. I am pre-op and thank-you so much for getting this kind of info out there. So many great resources at our fingertips!
I had already seen this article, BUT I have a problem with the article saying EVERYONE who had RNY MUST take B12 etc. Everyone is different. I had my 3 month blood test 2 months ago and everythig was PERFECT. I am very confident with my Surgeon/PCP/Endocronologist/Rheumatologist.
I like being treated as an individual, NOT a group. Good Luck to all with your Vitamins etc.
Your absolutely correct Barbara. Your labs are the true telling factor. Stay on the high side of recommended ranges though because if your only getting your labs done once a year you could be low for a long time without knowing it. The other thing people must do is track and trend their labs to show levels changing from test to test although they may still be in range. I just wanted to encourage people to be an active participant in their care.
Tom, I'm sorry, I know you are just trying to help by posting this. I get very irritated when I feel someone is questioning my surgeon. I KNOW YOU WERE NOT DOING THAT. I am sorry for my quick response. With my Thyroid problem I use to get blood work every 3 months until it was under control, I'm guessing I may have to go back to that just to keep my medication on track while losing weight. Thank you for all your helpful suggestions, advice and encouragement. You are one of the bestest!
Awesome video Tom, thanks so much for sharing this. There is so much miss-information going around on YouTube when it comes to vitamins & hopefully this will help keep people healthy!
OMG! TOM you are the man. This came just in time for me. I am heading in in less then two weeks and I just made a date with the dietitian because the supplements were starting to make my brain spin. It will be great to go in packing info. I know I want to take everything I need to take so thank you. PS I love the word "Behoove" LOL thanks for using it.
Found the doc link!
