  • The enemy's gate is down

  • This is very square. lol.

  • Creepy.

  • Didn't know Jesus was in the Sci-Fi Club.

  • no one there like planet of the apes

  • The Founder of PREHISTORIC CHANNEL has recently written his first thriller book. Aptly entitled "THE ICE GORILLA" The book is currently being looked at by movie executives in terms of turning it into a movie. The book is trying to sell 1 million copies to help convince the movie industry that this book should be brought to the big screen. Help make this book into a movie by Checking out THE ICE GORILLA @ Amazon.

  • @prehistoric28 i got the kindle edition! cant wait to read it!

  • It seems that alot of the mentions here fall more under fantasy than sci fi. I tend to view them as two distinct genres. There are certainly enough writers that you could still be very hard pressed to focus on just one or the other and it seems this video sandwhiched the two together for whatever reason.

  • @samspadena Everywhere I look, Sci-fi seems to get grouped together with Fantasy.

Every time I go to a book store and look at the "science fiction" section, it is just full of fantasy with a few crappy sci-fi books. It's such a shame because I realy like the genre.

Second hand book shops are great for finding good sci-fi though.

  • Nerds, check out real genre fiction: STEPHEN FUCKIN KING

  • I just read a new ebook, 'God Stopping A Nuclear War', only 99 cents, which fits science fiction, but goes beyond it.

There is a link to the author's website, from 1988, which has feed many ideas for science fiction, books, comics, and shows.

He reads like Philip Dick, but more.

This book can provide science fiction fans many new ideas to debate about.

It has been a feeding ground for writers for years.

Facebook it around, the author obviously doesn't believe in money or fame.

  • Foreigner! i fucking burrowed that book yesterday

  • Now we are approaching a science fiction conundrum.

Does the technology make books obsolete? Should science fiction lovers be the quickest to leave paper books behind? How much public domain science fiction is there now? 1000+ works.

    search on:

    science fiction sd card

  • I`m more into philosophical readings, and many people don`t believe me when i tell them that sci-fi can actually contain a profound and intense meaning.

I`m very picky with my readings, so i like authors who are rarely mentioned, like Stanislaw Lem, Ursula K. Le Guin, R.A. Lafferty, J.G. Ballard...

  • Cool new online community called Prehistoric Channel. They will be releasing several sci fi books this year.

    Just google Prehistoric Channel

  • Ender's Game is definately great and dune is my favorite of all-time, but I just read Galactic Battlefront Chronicles of a Soldier and it instantly made my top 10...I haven't read a book as good as this for nearly fifty years and I can't wait to see where it goes. I can't leave the website or it doesn't let me post but you can go to gbuniverse with a . then com ;) check it out the first installment is available for free right on the site.

  • Neckbeard

  • I LOVE SCIENCE FICTION SUBSCRIBE TO ANALOGUE SCIENCE FICTION AND SCIENCE FACT there are so many good stories presented in this magazine by very good authors. i read enders game it was well written but, a bit too dry for my taste i dont like aliens that look like farm animals.

  • If it's got wizards or magic for that matter, it's not sci fi, it's fantasy. Sci fi doesn't believe in magic or man's place in the universe. We're on our own in a cold universe.

Ender's Game was great though, no doubt about that!

This was a support group for geeks more than a sci fi club.

  • Can I email you guys some of my sci-fi short stories?

  • Ender's Game was good up until the halfway point. The main character's motivation to save humanity was his sweet sister who saved him from his brutal, bullying brother. But then on a canoe, she says: "Hey, I did you a favor by saving you. I'm calling it in. Do it for me." Then he decides to go fight, but says: "I'm doing it for me."

Ugh. That's like masturbating. So much for loving others. The rest beyond that is just details. He feels a little guilty for winning at the end.

  • i am the author of The Dragon Soul Rise of the Black Dragon, anyone interested in fantasy action adventure, please come chat with me on my space, the dragon soul

  • universe3000 you already said that

  • I always thought Pratchett books were in the fantasy genre.

  • @TheThreeWeavers you're right, it isn't SF

I hate that bookstores display SF and Fantasy books together; although some books have a mix of both genres they are two very different genres by nature.

I appreciate fantasy but SF has always been my favourite genre.

  • What, nobody there likes Philip Dick?

  • yeah exactly, they dont kno what real science fiction is

  • I would agree with most of the recommendations. Ender's Game is amazing. Good Omens is fantastically funny. I love most Pratchett (though CoM was my least favourite). And, as a former Chair of DougSoc, I have to agree about the recommendation of Douglas Adams. I think sci-fi is at its best when it lets you explore real people in unreal settings and gives you a glimpse of what human beings could be capable of - both the good and the bad.

  • I LOVE science fiction and fantasy. I also love when nerds say the word "realms".

  • Do you like science fiction?

    Do you like action?

    Do you like romance?

If you answer yes to either of the above, "Xen - The Prophecy" by author Iosefa M. Manu will satisfy those intergalactic cravings...

  • Book Obsessed. I hate the word obsessed. Whats wrong with having a passion for reading? I've had one for as long as I can acknowledge.

  • sci fi is great i just started reading it and really enjoy larry niven, theodore sturgeon, adn asimov..

i just bought the integral trees by niven and it seems awsome

  • This is my best science fiction book.

  • I didn't hear Frank Herbert mentioned.

  • So what? It's not like he's some obscure writer no sci-fi fan has heard of. Anyway, great video!

  • I love the series, "Book Obsessed". I really hope BN makes more.

  • Good Omens was really good, thanks for pointing me to that book.
