3-0 Silk? How is this a microsurgical procedure???? Have you used 8-0, 9-0 or 10-0 nylon for any procedures?

We use 3-0 silk as the standard suture (even with a microscope) for tying micro veins since they can rupture rather easily. This tends to be a more reliable suture size for tying off these veins. Really improves operative efficiency and some new modifications allow simultaneous real-time doppler mapping of the arteries and dual vision enhanced magnification. So I think it will have a future as we become more efficient with its use and the cost of this technology falls.

I've had a Varicocele for years and if you are married or plan on getting married and having children I would advise you to get it fixed. I didn't and it deprived me and my wife of having children. Now I'm too old to enjoy them so do yourself a favor and have it took care of. I worked with a guy that did and he was back to work the next day and his wife got pregnant within 3 months.
