2:45. The binding takes a little getting used to. The first few months I had my Studio Custom, my high E would often hit the binding when I did certain things.
Everyone is talking athe detail and craftmanship that goes into these guitars!Thats all very true, but nobody has mentioned the most important thing.HAMER GUITARS SOUND JUST WONDERFUL!!!
I just bought a Hamer Monaco Elite. It is the finest instrument I have ever played. I am selling my other guitars and saving for another Hamer. The craftsmanship and artistry of their guitars is unmatched. I could go on, but just read the reviews. Educate yourself about these guitars. You won't be sorry.
you are right. I played my buddies monaco elite finished in indigo. he bought it from willcutt guitars in louisville kentucky. Its the finest archtop in the world. My father has an original 59 Paul. When I A/B'd them the monaco smoked it in every way and it's because of the fine attention to detail.
wow this is amazing, i didn't realize that Hamer was that involved and actually are making custom guitars...awesome craftsmanship's.. Ill def look into these now that I know how much work is put into one. Not just done automatically at some factory... nice!
Ivoroid is a type of CELLULOID, one of the earliest types of thermoplastics. (a combination of nitrocellulose and camphor plus a few other things) It was invented around 1870 which is not hundreds of years ago. I also wonder where they plugged in their 800 degree heat guns hundreds of years ago. You should check your facts before you start name calling...
"as many would know that the guitar itself as of todays has yet to exist even hundreds of years ago."
I suggest you do some reading up on the names Torres and Hauser before you make that statement. Most high end (hand made)classicals are still built exactly as they did, right down to the fish glue and french polished shellac finishes.
And the Torreses you've mentioned existed somewhere around the late 19th century, only a few years past a 100 years, not the "few hundred years" like you pointed out Dantzig mentioned...
Yeah, and you wouldn't expect anyone to bite back if you call Dantzig "full of shit"...
Oh wait, you built many guitars, so you must know a lot more than what Dantzig knows...
Go figure...
But hey, if you want to call ivoroid plastic, you might as well tell the layman nitrocellulose is plastic as well, them guitar corksniffers would take their guitars over your head... :p
0:50 . An 800c heat gun.. hands a bit close isnt it?!

Well, you take the comment so seriously, as many would know that the guitar itself as of todays has yet to exist even hundreds of years ago.
And they need not use heat guns during those days, other heat sources was sufficient enough to allow the ivoroid to melt...
Heck, you can even call pure nitrocellulose plastic, it's just not common to call it so in lay mans terms...
What plastic means to the masses are cheap substitutes to more expensive byproducts...

As for taking the comment seriously...
Wouldn't you react the same way if someone called you a dumb shit? Especially if they were DEAD WRONG about what they were talking about.
If you want to debate guitar construction, build as many as I have, then we can talk...
