There is nothing 'amazing' about this. I sometimes wonder if all the ballet comments on youtube are written by 15 year old girl ballet students who know the lingo and can't wait to show off their knowledge of feet, shoes and how amazing and adorable their fav. dancers are.
See Linda Hindberg and Arne Villumsen (genuinely 'amazing' artists) dance this and then compare to this very unremarkable and quite inelegant performance by these overrated, gimmicky and usually vulgar dancers.
@resborzage this is really a rude comment. maybe some dancers are not "natively" trained for certain style and that their own styles are rooted in their muscle memory, but you cannot deny that they try to adapt to masters' ideas and try to pull it off their own way. alina is not a bournonville ballerina, but this pdd is definitely lovely and full of character. this is how art keeps going.
These dancers are terrific but they strayed from the"Bournonville" style of this marvelous pas de deux. Her extensions are far too high and the bent knees in her arabesques don't belong in this style of ballet. I'd love to see them in the Russian classics. I simply prefer the Royal Danes in this ballet, especially Rose Gade Poulson and Alexander Kolpin.
they are both so lovely! however it seems to me kobborg isn't following danish lines (ending turns with arms in first etc) but i thought he was danish? even if is isn't (and I know aina isn't) it kind of bugs me when people don't use danish port de bras in genzano. it's a bournonville ballet afterall! yet in anycase they are both amazing, such nice quality and ballon!
wow! this is beautiful- they leap like their as lighter than air and turn like they're stuck to the ground, and that grande rond de jambe into the penchee -AMAZING
That is such a hard variation and she does it very well!! Bournonville is very hard to master. I know that everyone at my studio we all hate when we have to do this variation ahahaha. i luv alina.
omg they are SO cute!! They have an amazing tecnique, they make a great team and they can act sooo wel!!!! i love how alina stares at him at 2:24 and he caches her and how embarrased she is!!! PERFECT!!

A most un-Bournonville Cojocaru with lazy brises and no arc in the arms.Hold the Danish! Kobborg the opposite, correct style and those perfect arms and beats. He's almost as great as Schaufuss.
I think she's a lovely dancer, and if by cheater you are referring to her shoe brand (Gaynor Minden) that's really unfair. Shoes don't give you lovely arabesque lines, clean jumps or talent.
I absolutly adore Alina, really she is my idol. In this she is so sweet and innocent. I love it and Johan is great also. They make a great team!!! :DD
beautiful!! alina as gorgeous as always...and johan...well...so kobborg!! awesome...no words....i could watch it a hundred times and still have my mouyth hanging open
We learned this solo for a dance intensive it is actually quite easy when you get the hang of it, I did notice there are no turns in this dance I thought that was a little strange.
Alina é uma perfeita bailarina, tem a doçura de uma fada e a singeleza de uma borboleta em seus movimentos.O bailarino também é excelente, parecendo um belo cisne a flutuar.
I'm not surprised, Alina Cojocaru as beautiful as every. She has perfect technique, artistry, passion, and beauty! Most of the neccesities to become a beautiful dancer.
This is from a ballet called "Flower Festival in Ganzano". It is a ballet by Danish choreographer August Bournonville, this Pas de Deux is all that remains of the ballet today!
Wow thats beautiful!
