  • I am a dancer and still doesnt know how to do a back bend for standing up XD I can do it laying down though : p

  • look like she's going to break her toes!

  • Is she a ballerina or gymnast?

  • it really isnt hard. you just have to really go for it and not be afraid to hit your head a few times. making sure to throw the weight of your arms over your head and back helps too.

  • I thought u where gonna teach us how to do it!!

  • My friend Katie can do this and I'm jealous. I don't have any back flexibility whatsoever, but I'm working on it.

  • shes so good at it!! its way harder then it looks

  • do you need a strong ankle to do the toe rise?

  • I need help with just the toe rise I can get almost up but right around the end I run out of my push off the floor. I'm thinking it's that my thighs aren't strong enough. Any tips. :Frustrated: :/

  • i can do a backbend and come up.....i can do a backbend and walk over....I CANT DO BACKBEND AND GO INTO MY ELBOWS AND GO OVER...I GUESS...oops cap locks wuz on :P

  • ...er there is no way i am even attempting that *jaw dropped*

  • press 6!!!!!

  • the toerise-bridge-walkover is in my 2011 acro solo lol

    its cracks my toe haha

  • thanks!!!!

  • My jaw was open throughout the whole video.

  • all i need to do is push off and i can do the second one:) any tips??

  • Comment removed

  • luckily i dont feel pain i roll around and bounce on my head and im always hitting myself and im so used to it i dont fell pain but i tried this 1st time and went WHACK tried it 2nd time ditto 3rd time DID IT was probs a fluke though

  • how to do should be removed from the title

  • @Divya0801 yeahhhh.. true! true!

  • I have a strong toe rise so I went into this thinking it would be easy. As soon as I lifted and started to go backward...BOOM! My head hits my wood floor...not trying this again :/

  • We worked on these a while back & I thought they were just the coolest thing ever! Good demonstration. My favorite is the second one (: we all call it "the worm landing" :P

  • i gotta learn how to do that!

  • oh my god...if i would do that i could never move again

  • =口='' can't get it...though she explained everything...

  • hehe i love to do it :) it's very easy for me :D :D

  • @1996MiRi1996 do you want a cookie?

  • @boxxcatgirl

    jealous?

    bad luck :D

  • you have to have soft, sticky hands.

my hands are naturally dry and slide when i throw them back on my marley dance floor...very dangerous

  • My toes would break off!

  • i can already do that backbend so that will hopefully help me with this :)

  • i can do that :D

  • i can already do the back bend with out toe rise back bend

  • i have done that multiple times but im not efficient though . any tircks on how to make it effiecent

  • never tried this but this is my next goal, haha. no problem with a regular toe rise, no problem with a back bend... i'll give this a try :) i think it's just having the guts to throw yourself backwards into it if you already have those two things. i've tried coming up on overtoes from the backbend, like the girls does in the first example... it looks really cool but it's a lot more pressure on your toes than a regular toe rise, that's for sure.

  • blehhhh i know this with hands sum1 plz help me! how do i do this without hands???? it's in one of my dances!!!!

  • Well I will have to learn how to do a back bend before i do this! lol

  • oh wow..how i wish i could do this...it will takeme years of stretching

  • I can't even do a toe rise :o

  • @shadowxbulb aint it the truth

  • ahh I don't understand how she gets onto her elbows in the second one.. I've tried so many times :/ it hurts my neck..

  • @AriannaMauree...u dnt need a strong back 2 do the toe rise back bend/popover, u just rele need 2 push ur hips forward and then up, it's more complex than that tho, trust me my friend Em has a weak back and she can do them.

  • We do this in acrobatics...except we call in a popover and go in2 it from our knees. The somersault outta it is called a back chest roll, and the lst thing shown is a kickover...not back walkover. Lastly, I wanted to say she has great form. :)

  • this is simple

  • @CissiF You have to have a really strong back to do that. And it takes a little time to get a strong one.

  • i love the seocnond one!!!!(where she goes onto her elbows) i cant imagen actually doing it though

  • OMG! don't i just wish i was her!

  • This is so hard! I cant do any back walkovers! Which tips do you recomend?

  • que bueno que elasticidad por favor quisiera tambien hacer eso

  • CAN YALL TEACH ME A DIS

  • thank you so much!!!! i got this after just a few times, thanks to your video!

  • luv it!

  • oh wow! i could never do that!

  • i want to know if the toes hurt!

  • @chauheikiu yes they do

  • Veri good? This is byooootefoool

  • She does not do a backwalkover in this video. She does a toe rise into a backbend kickover. Big difference.

  • Woah

That looks hard, going on urties without pointe shoes

  • omg i can do these

  • wow..... and I cant even get my basis toerise perfect,..... I have it somewht though!(if tht counts for anything lol)

  • and to help you if you want to do these to a toe rise then arch your back like your in a bridge and then plant your hands make sure to keep ur hips up!!

  • being 13 some girls in my class including me can do these.....we actually did toe rises in our dance

  • i've tried the regular toe rise and its hard and painful, i can't imagine those.

  • she makes it look smooth

  • i can do it in reverse!

  • wow! cool how the heck do you do it in reverse! post a video!

  • omg omg ;( it's look easy but not reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • doesn't look easy at ALL to me. O_O

  • haha nice work Lauren

  • she makes it look easy

  • I can do the last one. . . but i havent tried the others :) x

  • a jr high kid at my school can 2 but she does it a illte dif.

  • Yeah when i do it, im standing then go back into a bridge and flip over, i dont start from the floor and roll to it?? :s But i think my way is easier Lol :) x But it hurts my back because i dont do gym anymore :( so im less flexible :( :) x

  • this looks like something just like a fexibility element that we hav in rg

  • Watching this, she's really good and it looks easy.

    Then I try it.

    Oh god. ow.

  • I can actually do this (: and my older sisters caaaant! (I'm eleven, dont hate)

  • makes sense, younger=more flexible :)

  • Oh well (: I just like to say that I can and she can't, cause my dance teacher really wanted to put this in her routine.

  • I can do the first but not the second and third. I can't carry myself with the elbow thing. D:

  • wow i am so putting this in my own choregraphy dance : )

  • Man i hate charlie horses!!!! They hurt so bad!!!! Once i got one in dance class and everybody thought i was going to die cause i was screaming so much!!

  • i can definently do the first and second one learned it in 5min. im way to scared ill break my neck doing the last one (:

  • nice (=

you need to have strength to do this tho

  • wow! very imressive

i would try this but im too scared, i would collapse haha

  • you guys rock and i loved the special dance in red wood falls that ali teached us the hip hop one that was aswome but i forgot what the song was called!!

  • wow. thats amazing. back bend to back flip. we do back bend in yoga so that much i can do. im gonna practice that back bend to back flip and show off in my yoga class. wish me luck

  • WOW! nice job... i could never do this! hahaha

  • we do the same thing in gymnastics

  • this is awsome i cnt do the toe rise and back roll

  • why all ur videos are for pro. ... teach somthing basic... plsssss... pro. dont require this technic. but people like me (undancer, unflexible) does required ur advice.

  • omg madd but im scared to lyk u know go backwards and down

  • you kind of just have to trust yourself. =] just be careful when you do it.

  • haha thanks! ;)

  • i try to do it but i get a shooting pain up the front of my thigh. how do i stop this??

  • omg i got a charlie horse in my quad trying to do this. im glad im not the only one

  • Well part of the reason is that you're using muscles that you're not used to using. You probably feel the shooting pain in the front, cause you're not used to doing toe rises in that position.

Exercise that muscle group, as well as your ankles (something that should be stated whenever you do a how-to involving toe rises) and you won't feel the discomfort for long

  • stretch before you do it

or u dont have enough muscle to do it so you could be straining ur leg (i cant do it yet but i dont get any pain)

  • very good explanation, angel, if you have "discipline" you can get it, or your body is not the right shape to do it.

  • Never seen it before! Looks like some sort of backwards hinge. At least when you look at the toes, although they're not really rolling the floor.

  • that is so COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that looks so cool!

  • What would not be clear about this video? You can hardly show how to do toe crunch moves in slow motion can you?

first learn to crunch toes standing up

second learn a bridge from standing decently

third try out to combine those skills as shown.

  • well first if you know how to do a bridge and you have enough flexibility and strength than you can try this advanced. Nobody said you should just try everything.

  • i can do a back bend walk over. but i don't know about the whole, put your elbows out and roll.. ill have to try it :)

  • oh wow.. i'm always scared to kick back up.. i usually chicken out.. XD

    great job!

  • ok kool

  • i believe i read somewhere that toe rises actually mainly involve using your quad muscles. is this acurate?

  • think so. its not meant to hurt your toes if you do it proply or something.

  • ugh the push though is scary i thought i was gonna die lol.

  • hope u dont break your toes

  • I think it's easy..

  • you need flexible feet for the toe rises or youll break your toes

  • that is so wrong. first of all your ankles get more stretch then your feet. second if you do it right the you dont feel anything at all.

  • so good...I must learn this !!!!!!

  • idk why everyone says they hurt. u must not be doing it rite if it hurts.... it doesnt hurt me at all.... theyre actually really easy. so really this shouldnt hurt at all. you just need to use ur arms and back and keep ur weight off ur toes.

  • Amazing!

  • omg that is amazing! I'm going to be trying out for my highschool dance line, so these videos are going to really help in addition to my dance classes.

  • omg...thats amazing...

  • dang.. i'm really good at toe rises but i think i would break my ankle trying to do that

  • Wow I like doing this, but ouch, that's rather painful at a wooden floor like that!

  • Found da 2nd and last 1 hellpful now i can hopefully show it 2my friends and impress dem wid my flexibility =D

  • wow awsome

  • i like toe rises and m good at them but they hurt lol

  • pinkblueelephants, you dont. lol. oh my god that was amazing. i just tried it and my mom laughed at me :( lol

  • i can do that just not as clean as that!!

  • As nigel said in so you think you can dance, "it's a tremendous thing getting up over your toes like that!!"

  • she makes it look so easy!

  • i know

  • Ouch. All that on a hard wood floor too!

  • wow. that is AMAZING. she has a really flexible back.

  • Toe Rises= Pain :)

I could never do any of those

  • I can do the second one with my pointe shoes on. they make it much easier.

  • Oh wow. That's cool,I could never do that!

  • i tried doing this but it hurt my toes like a lot, how do you do it with out a bunch of pain?

  • those are really easy to do. but im in acro so i guess that would make it easier??

  • gah she makes it look so easy -_-

  • I can't kick my leg over my head xD It's so damn hard!

  • i can do that.

  • WOW!

    this girl is amazing (:

  • i'm gonna learn how to do it, great vid^^

  • how can you stay on your both toes on the groud ? anyone know this ? or know a tutorial for that ?

  • my classmates help me .... haha but on da aikido mat..... XD

  • Wow! I want to learn how to do that! But first I need to get more comfortable with the toe rise by itself, and get my back felxibiltiy a little better.

  • i can do this!!

  • Do you think you could demonstrate some basic Jazz, such as the positions or any basic but necessary movements?

    Thanks for your time!

  • Doesn't this hurt your toes/chest/knees/elbows? 'Cause the floor looks kinda hard..

  • This skill does require flexibility in your back. If you lack this, try our partner back bend exercise to stretch and strengthen your back muscles. A lot of the momentum to achieve this skill comes from pushing off the floor wiht your arms. Finally, you must push your pelvis forward and use your quad muscles to get you all of the way over. Doing squats and our across the floor plyometrics could help with this!!!

Thank you for the insightful questions!

    JFK

  • i agree ...how do you strengthen the muscles to be able to do this?

  • what are some recommended stretches or exercises to achieve the muscle for the toe rise?

because I've tried this and I don't think I'm strong enough for it yet.

  • This is considered bridge but have pointe. Its very hard if you don't wear the pointe shoes....

  • they do show a fouettes

  • How many years have your girls practiced to be able to do that?

  • Great illustration. please show more of these types of combination tricks. you guys have a lot of great how-to-do videos but i haven;t seen one on fouettes. i think it would be great if you could do a video on them.

  • We just added a video on fouette' turns!

  • haha yeah they do make it look super easy

  • I think taht would hurt my toes even if I had the ballet shoes on I saw the kids at school do it in the ballets and I thought wow that is amazing how they don't hurt there selves tahst pretty kool

  • holy crap.. your dancers make it all look so easy.. i still need to get the proper muscles back (havent really danced in 5 years) in order to do a simple toe rise!
