@deara2k Yeah, it is amazing how many scales from different parts of the world can often be identical. I might have just as well said "Middle Eastern" for that scale. Identical scales with differing names are found in Arabic, Hebrew, Iranian, and other regions' music. I just realized that I kind of differed from the scale I play at the beginning because I didn't often raise that 7th in the actual song.
@musichistorynut Random fact: The scales used for bagpipe music are also used in traditional chinese music :D This has led to a curious amount of cross-cultural musical influence between two cultures who have, other than that, pretty much nothing in common.
@HaniiPuppy Those scales are based on the pentatonic - both anhemitonic and hemitonic. It is amazing how the your basic major and minor pentatonic scales show up all over the globe! And because of that, Music may very well be the universal language! :)
@danielofantioch I am using a Korg Triton Le but the sounds you hear are from the sample libraries hosted in the computer. I am just using the keyboard to play the instruments that are on the computer.
@hassoun6 Yeah - the first time there was something wrong with the audio, so I uploaded it again. I was organizing stuff and I seriously don't know how I deleted it this time. Thanks for posting a comment again!
Thank you very much for this. I love orchestral music, specially when it sounds like Middle Eastern music. Your song reminded me of The Mummy OST.
I wish I could compose as amazingly good as you :(

Great stuff. Can I ask what sample libraries are you using?
mojopinner 4 months ago
@mojopinner Thanks!
I talked about that toward the end of the video, but here they are again:
Strings: VSL from Kontakt2 (yes, it's old, but they still sound good).
Taiko drums: Garritan World Library.
Harp and Timpani: Garritan Personal Orchestra.
And finally the French Horns are from Wallander Virtual Instruments. (WIVI).
I used Apple's Logic Studio to record and sequence on and used my Korg TritonLe as my MIDI controller. Reverb used: Space Designer from Logic.
