Uploader wasn't behind a router or any hard firewall when he did this (why not???), and should have indicated that in the video. Those with problems are most likely behind a router, and release-renewing your ip like demo'd in this video will only give you a new LAN ip. To get a new WAN IP, you'll need to go to your router setup screens and release the ip to get a new one from your ISP, assuming they give you dynamic addresses and not static.

This changes your IP address right up until the point where you go back to DOS and type ipconfig/renew so you can get back onto the internet and you wind up with the the same IP that you started with. The fact is if your ISP is through a cable company like (Time Warner) you can't change your IP unless you leave the modem off for a few weeks and that doesn't even work most of the time. Your best bet is to go back to DSL if your willing to trade speed with new IP's every time you disconnect pwr.
