You have to expand thinking of chemistry as merely combining solutions to create precipitates; it's about composition of matter, the means that cause different constituents to react (or not), and the resulting changes we are able to observe. QP is another way of describing the relationship of energy and matter by trying to quantify behaviors on as fundamental basis as possible.
It complements although proceeds to frontiers beyond those described by the Mendeleevian periodic table. That precept has been complemented by other disciplines: geochem, nuclear chem, and even quantum physics. They just try to seek additional rules that help understand the energy in our universe and how we can use it more efficiently. I've still got more to learn as well but keep an open mind because it enhances curiosity to consider investigations that can help reveal relationships to you.

it was discovered by heinrich hertz who failed to explain it
and thats what einstein did
