I lived in Dover, Delaware for several years and used to teach at his school (Del Tech) and Chris used to be my server at the restaurant where he used to work. True blue guy. Always polite and will always stop to talk. Even today when I go back to visit Dover and if I run into him at the grocery store he will always make it a point to say hello and chat a bit.

He had a past criminal record of some kind. That isn't allowed for auditioners, so when they performed a background check and found it, they had to nix him during hollywood, probably in the final Top 24 desicion.

I'm not sure you guys realize that it's better to be good and not win. Just b being extremely good as he was and being on, multiple talent agencies will have seen him. If you win, you are locked into a contract for them. You have to stay with them. But if you don't win, you have several options for agencies.

I have two theories:

#1 - Stiff competition.

#2 - Simple: Chris already had an identity as an artist.

They're looking for individuals that they can mold into a product.

Chris already had molded himself.

i agree....i admit i still like to watch american idol for entertainment.....but there is no need to compete in it if u have potential 2b a unique artist...and those are the ones that stand out the most...i dont think any of the winners stand out rly in the grand scheme of things

I know Chris personally (he is one of my good friends) and I can honestly say he is one of the nicest and most talented individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing...

I recently wrote & directed a music video for his original song "Still," which is a very beautiful and poignant ballad.
