  • Your the best Arlo.Love you man!

  • I wish Arlo could come to the Global Health and Humanitarian Summit IMVC dot org because it is wonderful to hear him talk to EVERYONE. Bring your Own God.

  • I'm 30 & I was raised listening to Arlo & watching Alice's Restaurant every Thanksgiving. It is a tradition I have brought with me to my own relationships & family as an adult. I am glad my father opened my eyes to this Amazing man, with a beautiful & indescribable voice. I hope I get to see him live in his or my lifetime!!!!! <3

  • I watch this whenever I need to have things put in perspective. Like re: the Tuscon thing. Can't we all set a GOOD example for the rest of this torn, hurting world?

  • I really needed that Arlo. Kinda puts things in perspective. I love you.

  • I love you Arlo.

  • Long live Arlo Guthrie.

  • He is so so good! I can listen to his stories for hours. This left me feeling so good and so happy inside. Arlo has a way like no other.

    10*

  • being a fa fan of arlo, bob, pete and woody......this song helps when you are up against the wall!...we are just one big family! God Bless All who listen to it!

  • I got to meet Arlo last fall after a concert, he was exactly as I imagined him being such a down to earth person with an authentic liking for everyone that was around. I now have an autographed LP in a frame hanging on my wall which is now my pride and joy...even over the unopened Roy Orbison LP!

What a great person and family he has!

  • Arlo gave everyone some old time religion at ISU auditorium with david bromberg back in the early 1980's even my 60some year old mother, my girlfriend at that time and me drug to the concert. Can still see the smile on her face, even now. Arlo and David and all their wifes and children on stage. Just amazzziiing that grace.

  • Yes Everyone Brings there own God....in all of hearts is the same GOD!

  • Praise the Lord for all of us New Old Folks!

Ya as we get old we become old folks!

We Must Keep the Faith and Pass It on!

  • Wooooohoooooo - AWESOME :-D

  • What a fantastic post! Thank you for this.

  • Dad taught you well Arlo!!!

  • I love this. He is such a great story teller. Hugs and Blessed Be to my universal family.

  • fantastic!! i was listening to this land is your land and the mouse slipped but it was a good slip :)

    thanks for posting :)

  • Listen to the version he did with the Boston Pops...it moves me to tears every time I watch it (read my comments on that video to understand why).

  • I am sorry for my english. Someone please tell me the last sentence about the rabbit story. I can't hear the joke well...:( A hungarian Arlo fan...

  • Last sentence

"We'll just stay here till we out-number them"

meaning, until there is more of us than them,

Hope that helps - its a good story

  • Thanks. In the meantime my english teacher helped me out. It is a very great story indeed:P

  • I have to make it back up to the church Arlo. Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Thank you, Jackie! Thank you Arlo, for reminding me of what I so often forget.

  • Classic Arlo, telling great stories and singing an inspiring song, Thanks for sharing your gifted family with us all, Judy

  • Love it, Jackie. Thanks!

  • Amazing!! Arlo!!

  • What more can be said about this song...

Pure inspiration. *wipes tears away from eyes*

Thank you Jackie (and Arlo/Pete and all)!

  • I love all of Arlo's music but this has to be my favorite, the story and the message he tells during this version is so inspiring.

the BYOG theory is the way I've always felt.

  • It's not so much as a Bring-Your-Own-God thing, but it's more of a family thing; which is how I felt when I went to my first concert (which, coincedentally, was an Arlo Guthrie concert - it felt like everyone there was "family" in one way or another).

  • I urge you to listen to the '84 version Arlo did with Shenandoah. Arlo tells an inspiring story about John Newton and talks about Steve Goodman's passing.

  • Where can one - such as myself - find this?

  • Comment removed

  • Pete and Arlo released two albums around the late 1980s. One was simply titled 'Together' and the second 'Together Again'.

If I recall right, this or a similar version is on the first one.

    .

  • This is great. I'm time warped in 1993.

  • The Earthly family offers a hardy Amen!

  • Best version of Amazing Grace Arlo has ever done! Arlo has not played that song at his shows in a while. I would love to hear him perform it again:)

  • Disregard that last comment. Crazy me actually read when this was performed...lol

  • Nice!!! What year was this?
