My R53 JCW hits 60 in 6.4. The Mini engines are widely acclaimed for their modifiability and it's well documented that they'll easily go upto 300bhp without too much tinkering or risk of failure.

The Mini has forced induction, the fiesta ST doesn't, if your refering to the supercharged version which is faster its because it is a 1.6 supercharged version, the fiesta ST does not have a supercharger.
Stock versus stock against 1.6 checkmate 3door in a 1/4 drag race the results are almost the same.
If i was to stick a supercharger on a fiesta ST i'd get more horse power then the mini could ever get so it's catch 22 with what your saying.
LOL Urb4nbob thats what all Fiesta ST owners think..I had one guy with a nice big back box on his trying to show me he was up for a burn so i sat back and had a good old laugh and then when we hit the motorway slip road i slammed my foot down in 3rd at 2500rpm, accessed roughly 300lbft and 250+bhp and left him wondering where i had went.Lets face it it doesnt matter how much bhp etc a car has, ST owners think they are faster.I know the R53 S doenst have nearly as much torque but its def fastest!
Not nearly as much torque as an R56 S Turbo i mean.. Cooper s whether supercharged or turbod is in a completely different league than a fiesta for everything..Handling, performance, build quality etc etc etc etc etc
That st just sounded dead in 2nd gear properly to many shit mods and lost all his torque

Stock vs Stock these two are almost identical actually. The Cooper S (R53) is 7.7 to 62mph and 19.1 to 100mph, the Fiesta ST is 7.9 and 19.9

C2 VTS or something like that .
Fiesta ST stock 0-100 = 8.5s (9.1 real)
MiniS model 2007 stock 0-100 = 7.1s (7.4 real)
