Whoever thought this sound was a good idea should really think about not judging people on appearances. This sound is rather annoying. My dad could hear it and he's in his forties.

....i found that you can only hear it if your volume is turned up to a certain point. it can't just be normal or else you can't hear it.

if this didn't help, then you must just not be able to hear high pitched noises.

the ability to hear this noise is lost by a deterioration in the ear that everyone gets sooner or later called presbycusis. the deterioration usually begins at the age of 18, but as bieberfever307 and huiren92 stated, they cant hear it at even a younger age. This just means that they have obtained presbycusis at a younger age. Dont worry though, because it doesn't affect any other hearing other than 15kilohertz and above.
