Keith was in the whirlwind of the early 60s. The man can sing with the soul of Tom Waits and others but from an experience that only a few would understand.
I always preferred the Flying Burrito Brothers version to that of The Stones (it was written by Keith and Gram Parsons in France during the 'Exile on Main street' sessions). This is a great take on it, though! :)
@siriusisastar No it wasn't. It was written between 1969 and 1970. It was recorded by the The Flying Burrito Brothers and was released on their second album "Burrito Deluxe" a year before The Rolling Stones released their version on 1971's Sticky Fingers. The songwriting is a very good reflection of the close friendship that Gram Parsons developed with Keith Richards since their meeting in 1968.
this is a tribute to GRAM PARSONS "THE" COUNTRY ROCK N' ROLL LEGEND, IF YOU LOVE MUSIC YOU CAN SIT IN THA BACK YARD TILL 4 IN THE MORNING DRINKING WITH FRIENDS LOOK UP GRAM HES THE MAN. R.I.P
Muito bonito!!!Cara,Keith é um dos maiores caras da história da música,um guitarrista incrível,um eterno "bad boy",mas um coração imenso.Grande ser humano!!!! Parabéns!!!!
@stuartskinner009 suck it stu & learn how to SPELL!!! 'Keith' is a living LEGEND & can sing wheneva he f'n wants, HE WROTE THE SONG SO I BELIEVE HE HAS THE RIGHT TO DO AS HE PLZZZZ'S & DOES IT VERY WELL!!!
I <3 Keith. Such amazing talent and so humble and shy:)
I always loved "Wild Horses" and I found it even more wonderful when I learned in Keith's autobiography that he wrote the song for his son Marlon after he was born and Keith felt guilty about going on tour and leaving him. When he brought the song to Mick, he wrote the lyrics we know today. The only lyrics that belong to Keith that still exist is the chorus, "Wild Horses couldn't drag me away." Beautiful.
you didnt mention james burton on guitar int the background, behind keith, the greatest guitar player in the world, he played on all rick nelsons records, a lot of elvis's records. i saw him with elvis costello and nick lowe in the 80's , look him up youll be rewarded
