As Head of Marketing I had to make 50+ people redundant last month as part of recessionary cuts in our dept.

It’s always an awful prospect, so I thought it would be fun to pretend a popular employee had died that morning & observe a 1min silence in the office. At the end of this, the ‘deceased’ jumped out of a cupboard & announced that it was in fact a memorial to their old jobs- & a celebration of new career opportunities!

Some declared it ‘disgusting’- but most laughed & appreciated it.
