What I liked to do was kill off every single life-form with high-radioactivty by aiming nukes (but at the ocean). Then the time-scale would switch to Geological and the continents would start moving according to what (we think) the likely directions will be...
I can't believe some clueless people are actually bashing this game for it's graphics and audio. Come on people, it's like 20 years old! Quit comparing it to modern games. If it were developed in this day and age, it would look a hell of a lot better.
I remember getting a civilisation and setting the nuclear power slider a bit to high, which resulting in them wiping themselves out with nuclear war, the poor fools I was so annoyed!
What I liked about Sim Earth was that you could leave things alone and it would keep evolving (most of the time) without player intervention. That's what I think is missing from Spore: the ability of the game to surprise you.
This game was the shit. I used to play it in the middle of the 90s for hours.
I love watching the world tear itself apart during a nuclear war, or churn up tons of volcanoes near cities, or turn a thriving planet into a lifeless snowball. I even remember how I used the monolith to uplift starfishes into sentience. Great times.
If you ever get robot civilization from nuking a nanotech city, and use the query tool on the final evolutionary stage of the robots, the game always crashes.
when i play the bottom of all my windows is cut off, so i cant read or click the bottom row of buttons...anyone else go this problem?

They need to remake all of the Sim games, like SimEarth, SimAnt, SimPark, SimTown, SimSafari, etc.
