What is the difference between Lowchen and Havanese? I know the lion clip sets the breed apart but it's harder to distinguish it when it has a full coat.
Hi, thanks for the note. There are significant difference between the two breeds. The main one being the shape of the body. The Havenese is has a longer body and shorter legs, whereas the Lowchen is more square and has longer legs. The head is also different but this may not be as obvious as the shape of the body. Their personalities are quite similar both being bred as companion dogs.
Hello! If you keep a Lowchen's coat trimmed to about 2" long or less, then they are very easy to maintain. If you like a longer coat look then you need to groom daily. They need minimal exercise and they do not shed so you don't need to vacuum all the time. And Lowchen are very very devoted to their owners. They want to cuddle on your lap, play silly games or just follow you from room to room. Our local London Canada breeder has 2 puppies looking for homes in about 2 months from now.
